多家直播平台向腾讯科技提供的数据显示，几乎每家直播平台粉丝最多的前二十名主播里都有超过或接近半数为东北籍。而在明星领域，东北主播更是段位颇高，赵本山曾在微博多次为女儿在映客参加的直播选拔比赛拉票，其旗下的“赵家班”也在各个直播平台里非常活跃。

需要钱给家人看病、补贴家用、没工作，很多普通东北主播进入这个行业的原因无外乎如此。
“你见过洛杉矶凌晨四点的样子吗？”篮球明星科比曾如此谈论自己成功的秘诀，小欣（化名）并没有听过这句话，但她却很熟悉北京凌晨四点的样子，因为这是她每天结束直播的时间。
不过即便如此，小欣依然很满足现状。这个刚刚过完24岁生日的鞍山姑娘已经足足在北京打拼了6年，在进入直播行业前在北京一家小外贸公司做前台服务员。小欣接触到直播行业则是来自一个社交软件“陌陌”。小欣在这个平台上很快积累到了第一批粉丝，随后在几个忠实粉丝的推荐下，她在多个直播平台里开通直播间，过起了“新生活”。
凌晨4点的北京生活让小欣很快失去了那份前台工作，不过她并没有觉得惋惜，反而因为新的自由生活觉得快乐，而且这份工作“收入高”。
喵播的东北主播“秋-阿宇宝贝儿”则用两个字描述进入直播行业的原因：自由。这个性格有些大大咧咧的东北姑娘如此描述主播的生活，“时间我可以随意安排，不用受限制，而且形式我也很喜欢，一起聊聊天、唱歌什么的很快乐，能发挥我们东北人的特色。”
同样来自喵播的东北主播学姐噗最开始就是想让别人听到自己的歌声，没想到很快有了稳定的收入，就决定成为全职主播。学姐噗和秋-阿宇宝贝儿未来的职业规划都和明星相关，“演艺梦”是她们在聊天时最喜欢讨论的话题。而小欣的选择却不一样，她计划在今年年底返回东北老家，“我要和家人在一起。”
顽固的社会阶层，稀有的新兴行业工作机会，沉闷的文化惯性，压抑了这些东北年轻人的个性、才能和表演天赋，而网络直播平台的兴起，释放了他们的活力，东北主播的崛起也就在情理之中了。
表演天赋和发展瓶颈
在直播江湖里，知名主播往往有另一个称呼“网红”。而在网红圈子里，音量最大的也是这些豪爽的东北人。
刚子（化名）在2010年左右来到南方创业，虽然最终创业失败，但几处房产投资却让他收入颇丰。去年他回到东北，用这笔钱开始进入直播行业。在他看来，东北主播的特点是性格洒脱，非常容易和用户产生互动，而且以赵本山为代表的东北艺人将东北话普及大众，这让东北主播很容易被大家接受。
陌陌近日发布的移动直播报告就显示，南北方主播内容差异极大，除了唱歌等固定内容，东北主播爱在直播间隙和观众唠嗑、拉家常且说话直爽；而南方的主播则相对温柔婉约，有的主播甚至在直播间跳芭蕾。
有调查显示，东北主播的爽朗、率真、能说会道、表现力强等特点，是他们能够迅速成为直播圈最受欢迎的主播群体的原因。
在直播行业的PC时代，秀场模式往往靠打“擦边球”生存，而在现在愈发白热化的竞争环境中，一些主播也不惜触碰直播守则，面临直播间被封停的风险，大打“软色情”牌。露脐、蕾丝吊带、三角形超短裤等性感衣物曾经是直播平台的标配，一些有意无意的暗示可以让一个直播间瞬间人气爆棚。
不过随着监管逐渐加强以及直播模式多样化，仅仅靠色情擦边球似乎已经不能满足粉丝的全部需求。据不完全统计，在YY、斗鱼等直播平台上，秀场模式的人气男主播也不在少数。
在这方面，东北男性有得天独厚的优势，在春晚舞台上积累起来的影响力让东北男主播很容易打开话题。
据介绍，此前语音直播模式出现时因为到处都是唱歌房间，轮流喊麦，而后逐渐的变成了点歌主播唱，但是主播不可能一直唱下去，这就需要聊天进行串场。

而在亲和力之外，东北主播如此流行也正应了映客的那句广告词：“你丑你先睡，我美我直播。”哈尔滨连续三年稳居中国十大美女城市榜首、大连也是国内美女知名产地，而在这两地之外长春、长白山、沈阳等城市也多出美女，东北美女的显著特点是皮肤白皙，身材高挑，曲线动人，大多是大眼睛高鼻梁，非常适合直播镜头。
当然，随着越来越多人加入直播行业，竞争也越来越激烈，主播这份职业还能延续多久存在着很大的不确定性。
在刚刚进入这个行业的前三个月内，小欣的月平均收入超过1万，甚至有一个月因为有几个土豪连续打赏收入超过3万。不过随着竞争愈发激烈，目前小欣的月收入稳定在5000元以上，这也是在照顾家人之外她返回东北的一个重要原因。
而收入迅速降低的原因还有一个是平台抽成越来越高，据腾讯科技了解，即便是平台不抽成的花椒直播也要收取10%左右的手续费，YY和9158的分成中主播只能拿到三成左右，虎牙映客等直播平台主播拿到的收入也和YY、9158相去不远。
部分东北主播对腾讯科技表示，现在整体主播收入确实在下降，但在东北当地依然还算不错的收入。在直播打赏之外，一些主播也在探索新的盈利模式，例如承接一些企业客户的商业推广以及与电商、在线教育等垂直领域结合等。事实上，产业创新、娱乐消费和年轻人创造力的结合，可能也是振兴东北经济的关键所在。
