每日甘肃网8月28日讯（兰州晨报记者 薛长明）犯罪嫌疑人高承勇，家住兰州市榆中县青城镇城河村428号，和白银市白银区水川镇隔黄河而望。
和许多兰州农村地区百姓到兰州打工不同的是，榆中县青城镇虽然属于兰州，但是却离白银较近，所以当地人出外打工第一选择往往是白银，第二选择是 内蒙古和宁夏，较少到兰州打工的。破案之前，在当地百姓眼中，高承勇就是许多出外打工人员中的一员，而且是“混”得不错的一员。
8月27日晚，记者电话联系了该村数位村民，“高承勇竟然是个变态杀人嫌犯”的消息早已在村子里传播开，许多村民对此消息都持怀疑态度。让许多 村民羡慕的是，高承勇的两个儿子自小学习优异，都是大学本科毕业，如今都已参加工作。而高承勇则一直在白银打工，妻子在娘家靖远打工，逢年过节高承勇大都 会回家，有时候还是开着小汽车来的。
28年后指纹破案
追凶28年，最终帮助警方抓到高承勇的关键信息，来自指纹。
当时，警方确认案件系同一人所为，虽然嫌犯留下了足印、指纹、精液、DNA等各种身体特征线索，甚至有模拟画像。警方试图通过这种方法排查案犯，但最终查无此人。
一位接近警方的人士称，如今他们才知道问题出在哪里——高承勇户籍所在的兰州农村，因为排查困难，当时可能并没有录入指纹，高承勇之前也有可能避开了所有的指纹采集。
