原告诉称，东映动画株式会社拥有动画片《ONE PIECE》（中文译名《海贼王》或《航海王》）及其中人物卡通形象美术作品的著作权。株式会社万代南梦宫娱乐从东映动画株式会社处获得授权，有权在中国使用涉案作品制作并运营手机卡牌游戏《航海王启航》。
原告发现，被告自2013年8月起，将其制作的《梦想海贼王》手机卡牌游戏（后改名为《草帽船长》、《伟大航路新挑战》等）通过互联网运营。该游戏擅自使用了214幅《海贼王》美术作品作为游戏卡牌角色人物，侵犯了原告享有的美术作品改编权、信息网络传播权等。《梦想海贼王》游戏的故事背景、卡牌角色姓名、人物关系等抄袭《海贼王》，并利用涉案作品极高的知名度吸引用户，属于不正当竞争行为。
《梦想海贼王》在360手机助手平台下载量惊人，与株式会社万代南梦宫娱乐《航海王启航》正版游戏相当。原告为维护自己的合法权益，请求法院判令被告停止侵权及不正当竞争行为，通过各大门户网站向原告赔礼道歉、消除影响，赔偿原告经济损失500万元及合理费用30万元。
目前，此案正在进一步审理中。
