大、小苏宇轩并非2016级新生中唯一的同名同姓者，据不完全统计，在新生们当中，有4位名为“王超”的同学，重名达到3人的则有“陈浩然”“刘宇”“吴越”“张琦”“张宇”等名字。土木工程学院中就有2对重名：分别是齐晨旭（分别来自山西、河北的2位男生）与张佳琪（分别来自江苏、宁夏的2位女生）；此外还有分别来自安徽阜阳、安徽滁州的2位名为“张帅”的男生同时被电子与信息工程学院录取。
而在同济特意用大数据描绘出的新生档案中，此次入学的本科生中共有339个不同的姓氏，其中，王、李、张、陈、刘成为五大姓氏。
