金鹿公务航空是海航旗下的公务机专营企业，被认为是中国公务机和私人飞机服务行业的缔造者，主营业务包括公务机租赁、私人飞机托管、公务机地面代理和维护、空中医疗救援以及私人飞机购买咨询等服务。资料显示，金鹿公务拥有和管理90余架公务机，现已设立北京金鹿、上海金鹿、香港金鹿三大运营公司，占据中国公务机市场90%以上的市场份额，也是亚洲最大的公务机公司。
业内将波音787公务机称为全球公务航空旅行的“梦想机型”，而金鹿公务也成为了托管运营全球首架波音787公务机的公司。

前瞻产业研究院发布的《2015年中国航空租赁现状调研及市场前景走势分析报告》指出，公务机业务在中国兴起大约可追溯到2003年，此后10年间这一市场经历了蓬勃的发展。报告显示，中国内地注册的公务机数量从2008年的32架增加到2013年的202架；据中国民航局统计数据，中国公务机运营小时数由2008年的6343小时上升到2012年的26766小时。
“2009到2012年是井喷的一段时间。”美国某通用飞机制造商中国公司负责人告诉成都商报记者，当时公务机每年的增幅高达百分之三四十。截止到2013年，中国的公务机市场已经达到367架（包含港澳台），其中44%的公务机用于私人出行，22%用于包机。
据此负责人介绍，公务机客户一般有三类。一类是直接买家，所谓富豪、大老板，业内叫高定制人群，每年国内外各种富豪排行榜，这些人大都榜上有名。这些买家首先有需求，“频繁出差，需要效率、私密、安全”；也有财富基础，“商业帝国庞大，买得起”。第二类是运营商。第三类是民生金融租赁公司。一次买上好几架，再租给运营商或私人老板，又分为融资租赁和经营性租赁。

除了租赁，公务机也发展出更多新消费方式。中国公务航空集团董事局主席兼首席执行官廖学锋在今年4月的亚洲公务航空大会及航空展（ABACE 2016）上发言称，中国客户已经从以前的只买新飞机，过渡到开始慢慢接受二手飞机，更有一些中国客户开始销售自己的在役飞机。中国市场目前有近600架公务机，约有10~20架二手公务机在售。
对此，廖学锋表示，二手公务机在售是正常现象，并不代表中国客户不需要公务机了，而是由于如公司业务变更、个人需求变更等各种各样的主客观原因，需要更换或出售公务机。
商业权威美国 《财富》中文版评出的“2015年中国40位40岁以下的商界精英”，Global Wings铂雅公务航空创始总裁张洪超入选，可以说是该杂志第一次出现航空产业公司代表入选。
成都商报记者了解到，作为一家公务航空出行服务公司，除了开设了公务机包机的传统业务外，该公司还开发了“我要拼机”的APP，开创了全球公务机拼机新模式，把公务机空载航班按照座位卖给个人，类似北京飞三亚马云及王健林同款湾流G550公务机，拼机费用过节过年期间比头等舱还便宜。
