Alipay announced to withdrawal charges: cat Taobao seller, contracted merchants are not affected-PayPal fees-IT information

At present, the network transfer of traditional commercial banks and other businesses are gradually entering "free time", and rely on free "conquer" Internet service ushered in a wave after wave charged climax. First, start from March this year, slightly begin to charge a fee for withdrawal function. Yesterday (September 12), PayPal app "footsteps", announced a charge of links .

According to PayPal announcement, on October 12, 2016, PayPal will charge on individual user exceeds the amount of free cash 0.1% services, individual users today enjoy a 20,000 yuan per person based on free cash withdrawal limit. Using based free credit when you are finished, the user can use Ant points for more free cash withdrawal limit.

For the two Internet giants have chosen to withdraw link starts charging, a insiders gave away the secret – the free "strike out", but not free "Heaven". Before the promotion phase, third party payment to attract customers is in fact took on related charges. But as the number of users and the significant increase in trading volume, any enterprise is difficult to bear this cost .

Meanwhile, micro-and PayPal as an example, since they formed their own consumption of the closed-loop, this provision through withdrawal fees and capital in order to stay within its commercial closed-loop, let the consumer side of the business took on related charges, is a third party payment, the win-win between merchants and consumers.

Some analysts pointed out that as the user willingness to pay for quality Internet content and services promotion, some Internet companies started to no longer "free" as the only means of attracting users, but by improving service quality and expansion of services to attract "pay" user, this is the sign of the maturing of the Internet in China.

Set 20,000 based free credit

Is now part of the so-called, refers to users through a third-party payment platform to transfer money to a bank card. Alipay adjusted withdrawal rules are not the industry's first, in March of this year, the app has begun charging 0.1% fee to the user, accumulated 1000 free withdrawals per user limit.

According to the reporter, PayPal withdrawal involves "cash to my bank card" and "transfer to other bank card" two features. According to the revised rules, PayPal will be beyond the free credit amount of partial withdrawal of the 0.1% fee-for-service, single service fee charge less than 0.1 by 0.1 Yuan. PayPal personal basis of 20,000 Yuan by end users can free cash withdrawal limit, the limit is 20 times times the app.

Other than the withdrawal, the reporter noted, use Alipay for consumption, finance, insurance, mobile phone recharge, utility payment, registration and payment of traffic fines, the use of mobile phone PayPal transfer money to PayPal account, payments and other services are not affected by the new rules impact.

Most of these services, users also get ants in the process of integration, use underlying free cash withdrawal limit of 20,000 yuan after Ant points can be redeemed for free cash withdrawal limit. Current exchange ratio is 1 Ant free withdrawal limit points for 1 dollar, no Cap.

For headline balance treasure, announcements, Bao funds out of balance, including transfer to my bank card and go out to your PayPal balance will remain free. However, since October 12, 2016, the users from the new balances treasure funds can only go back to PayPal balance when you go out, you cannot go directly to the bank card.

Meanwhile, cat sellers Taobao, Alipay effective signing commercial tenants and so on, through "withdrawal" products will be within the PayPal balance funds to my bank card is still free .

Withdrawal charges or a trend

The reason to start charging, PayPal said in a statement, because of the "integrated faster increases in operating costs ', adjust the rules to ease cost pressures. "Further explains that opted to withdraw rather than in other charges, because users use PayPal pay much higher than the frequency of withdrawals.

Reporters noted that micro letter announcing the withdrawal before link charges, given its reasons are similar to Alipay, the statement, it was said, not charging for the operating profit, but rather to cover the bank charges.

So, fees for third party payment take much pressure, Tencent and Ali owned by two Internet giants are unable to carry out the third party payment platform.

In this regard, in response to about cover it is why fees problem, Tencent Board Chairman Ma Huateng, CEO has said that micro-payments as a third party payment tools, the user transfers the time commitment for the channel, bank charges are paid to third party tools, transfer costs by up to 1 per thousand. The cost more than 300 million a month, and is rapidly growing, which a company cannot afford .

The concept of think tank says financial industry Center Research Director Mark Tao Ma, including PayPal, micro-third-party payment platform, for users to bear the costs. Millions of users decided the cost was huge. Free service customers in early to the platform, but in large amount of customers and transactions to a certain extent, the huge transaction costs will push up the operating cost of the platform.

Assistant Chen Li, an analyst of China's e-Commerce Research Center also said users about third party payment there is a misunderstanding. Paid giant in order to strengthen itself before user groups, take our free policy. Now gradually began to charge, but in fact is not very large impact on the users, to transfer direct electronic bank transfer online, because banks now have the interconnection cooperation. Alipay can say after micro-payment has the same purpose, all want to make money in its commercial system, rather than let it flow to the Bank.

Darui consulting founder and Chief Analyst Ma Jihua pointed out that "(previously) app by way of fees, did intercept a lot of customers, promote the offline payment. As supervision strengthened and increased charges is the trend, withdrawal fees, purpose does not want to pay, but keeping more money in (own business) within the system . ”

Industry insiders said, according to the business model of the third-party payment, consumer users through a third party payment process, businesses would have been paid to a third-party payment platform, a service fee, the equivalent of business helping consumers bear the charges realized businesses, consumers and third-party payment platform of win-win.

In the view of the industry, all the trend will move closer to the rate of payment. Ma Jihua says, "as long as they can form a closed loop of consumption, you can back-end business charges, cannot form a closed-loop business consumption (such as cash) charge should be a trend. ”
