今天，位于松江大学园区的东华大学化学化工与生物工程学院一实验室发生爆炸，两名学生受重伤，暂无教师受伤。校方向各大院系发出紧急通知，要求迅速对所有实验室开展安全检查，吸取教训，防患未然。
解放日报·上海观察记者获悉，目前爆炸原因仍在进一步调查中，现无法判断是物理性的高温高压因素，还是实验品的化学反应因素，或者是实验人员操作不当的人为因素造成爆炸。
化学化工与生物工程学院是2007年10月化学与化工学院和生物科学与技术研究所合并成立的，化学与化工学院的前身是成立于1951年的纺织化学工程系，纺织化学与染整工程学科是享誉国内外的国家重点学科，具有重要影响力。生物科学与技术研究所则成立于2004年10月。
据悉，此次事发实验室属于始建于2002年的生物工程实验室，现有教学、教辅人员32人。其中，正教授8名、副教授5名、讲师11名、中国科学院院士1名、校特聘教授1名。实验室总使用面积约400平方米，拥有现代化仪器设备，仪器总价值约600多万元。
目前，生物工程实验室包括可供本科学生教学实习的大型现代化发酵工程实验室、大型生物化学综合实验室、大型微生物学综合实验室以及多个专业化实验室。
近年来，高校实验室安全事故时有发生。作为上海市功能材料化学重点实验室主任、上海市纳米科技首席科学家，蓝闽波教授今春向全国两会提案认为，中国高校实验室建设无论从数量和质量上都达到了前所未有的高度，而同时实验室安全工作也面临着巨大的压力和挑战。
今年，教育部组织的实验室安全抽查期间，仍出现了某大学化学实验室爆炸、另外两所高校发生安全事故的重大事件。
他认为，从实验室抽查的情况来看，目前高校科研实验室安全管理主要存在的隐患可以分为两类。其一是主观隐患：对于危险化学品使用可能造成的危害认识不足；人身防护不足，操作规范掌握不到位，缺少必要的应急预案。其二是设备、物品隐患：压力气瓶未安装固定装置或放置区域存在隐患；危险化学品、生物危害物及废弃物保管、处理措施不及时、不规范；部分重点部位未安装自动监测报警装置；部分警示标语、装置使用说明未能较好放置；实验室存在电路隐患和通风隐患等。
