这项纪录是在世界人力速度挑战赛中创造的，参赛的自行车名为Eta，它的子弹头造型结合了空气动力学，非常吸引眼球。而拥有“惊人腿力”的驾驶员雷切特则是名为Aerovolo团队的创始人，同时他还是该团队的技术专家。

此前，该团队还在2010年控制一架雪鸟扑翼飞机完成了全球首次的19秒自持飞行。2013年，这个团队拿到了梦寐以求的西科斯基奖。获得该奖项的条件是必须控制一架人力直升机飞行一分钟。
