　　据《长沙晚报》报道，10月3日晚，首届“吕志和奖”在香港会展中心举行颁奖典礼。86岁的中国工程院院士、“杂交水稻之父”袁隆平身着唐装，从香港嘉华集团董事会主席吕志和手中接过证书和奖杯。袁隆平院士凭借其对促进世界粮食安全作出的杰出贡献，被授予首届吕志和奖的“持续发展奖”，并获得2000万港元的奖金。这是他获得的第23个国际国内大奖。

　　吕志和奖由吕志和去年9月在港出资20亿港元成立，每年拿出6000万港元奖励3位个人或机构，以向世界宣扬“正能量”。每个类别的最终获奖者将获得2000万港元的奖金以及证书和奖杯。
