北青报:你们当时是怎么发现包含猪骨的?

李凡:因为当时我最先看到的是肩胛骨,猪和羊的长得完全不一样。而且上面连着的还有其他的骨头,最明显的就是肩胛骨,一眼看出来不一样。而且我们做动物考古,平时主要就是看骨头,所以很明显。

北青报:猪骨和羊骨差别都有哪些?

李凡:动物和动物之间,尤其是跨科的话差别很大,猪骨和羊骨,除了椎骨和肋骨之外,其实都是很容易分辨出来,比如羊的肩胛骨有点像偏长的三角形,猪的是有一个边缘是呈圆弧状的。还有一个地方叫肩胛冈,长得也不一样。而且羊、牛和鹿的肩胛骨上还有一个肩峰,猪是没有的。

北青报:有没有想到现在很多人关注这个事?

李凡:完全没有,我们就是当笑话看的,发在我们微信群里,也没想到有这么多人关注。

北青报:普通人怎么去区分羊骨和猪骨呢?

李凡:这个可能没办法,有兴趣的话可以自己去关注,要是系统学起来还是要花工夫的,因为一个骨头就有很多名称,还分前侧、后侧、腹侧、背侧等,专业术语很多。

北青报:对现在这件事成为一个网络热点,你怎么看?

李凡:我觉得就是一个娱乐,其实有点可笑,因为我们是一个相对比较小众的学科,人都不多,国内开一次动物考古学大会,差不多也就有五六十个人,真的算是比较小众的,但也算是独特的魅力和乐趣,我觉得能从这个事件去关注动物考古也挺好的。因为考古学其实相对封闭,而且专业性较强,但是近些年我们也意识到,任何一个学问都要让公众知道研究成果,知识还是要回馈大众。
