叶根友说，靠着创作和经营字体，他在杭州买了房买了车，有了自己的工作室，虽然算不上富裕，但也过上了以往干苦力时想都不敢想的生活。

叶根友说他这么多年，一直想出一套真正意义上的小孩子字体，虽然自己也曾刻意模仿小孩子的笔法和感觉写字，比如叶根友童体、叶根友小京楷字体等，但都是大人模仿的孩童风格，效果始终不尽如人意。

今年暑假，他跟儿子商量，能不能写一套字稿？
