当再一次进入公众的视野，33岁的王波(化名)选择了一种截然不同的方式。
在家乡湖北黄冈，王波数度成为街谈巷议的明星人物：高三获得中国中学生化学竞赛决赛二等奖，保送北京一所著名学府；2014年返乡创业，成为地方政府重点关注的对象。
10月27日上午，他的名字出现在黄冈市公安局对外公布的中国公安部督办特大制造、贩卖、走私毒品案中。如今的王波已是犯罪嫌疑团伙的核心人员。
因涉嫌制造、走私数百公斤国家管控的新精神活性物质（一种新型毒品——记者注），非法获利450万元，今年6月，王波及其团伙被公安机关抓获。
从北京著名学府毕业生、返乡创业明星到犯罪嫌疑人，王波的人生轨迹缘何逆转？连日来，中国青年报·中青在线记者来到黄冈展开走访。
LED灯管内的神秘晶体
在黄冈中学的官网上，至今还能查到，2001年，王波以保送生的身份入读北京某著名学府化学与分子工程学院。
黄冈当地的公开报道显示，2014年，作为地方政府引进的“创业人才”，王波回到黄冈，成为当地一家生物科技有限公司的创办人之一，从事“非天然氨基酸、新型抗癌药物的研发与生产”。当时的市政府主要领导还专程到王波公司考察，寄予厚望。
今年6月，这样一名曾经的“创业明星”悄然殒落。
案发在今年3月。黄冈市公安局黄州分局禁毒大队和陈策楼派出所进行联合例行检查时，在上述公司位于当地某化工厂的一处厂房内发现，用于生产的原材料硫酸、盐酸等未按规定报备。外围了解显示，实验室的人员活动比较隐蔽。系列秘密调查随即铺开。
6月初，一则信息被深圳警方通报至黄州公安分局：从黄冈市快递至深圳龙华新区某国际物流公司的LED灯管内，藏有500克浅黄色晶体，疑似毒品；寄件人自称“小张”，通过QQ与物流公司联系，要求发货至西班牙、荷兰、波兰等国。
两起异常情况，是否暗藏关联？一支由黄冈市公安局联合黄州分局组成的专案组成立。侦查员兵分三路，对发件人QQ号、黄冈相关快递公司、以及当地某化工厂等进行摸排。
调查显示，可疑QQ号的使用人员系一名户籍地黄州区某小区的29岁女子伍云(化名)，而“小张”的真名，竟是王波。
更进一步的信息显示，伍云与王波是夫妻关系。位于当地某化工厂内的生产车间系王波租用，并且，王波聘请了堂弟王飞(化名)等人，在厂内制造疑似毒品。
缴获新型毒品600余公斤
6月8日，在黄州城区王波的家中与当地某化工厂内，王波、伍云、王飞和现场工人被抓获。
警方缴获盐酸、硫酸、乙酸乙酯等原材料4.6吨，缴获疑似毒品611.3公斤，并在王波家后阳台发现20余个LED灯。
同时查获的还有3台笔记本电脑、留存的55张快递单，以及大量利用他人信息办理的U盾及银行卡等。
611.3公斤产品到底是不是毒品？专案组展开审讯。办案民警称：“一开始，王某只说产品是氨基酸，并不是毒品。”
但是，不同于一般案件的是，王波用来与买家联系的往来邮件全部系英文，且包含有大量化学分子式。
民警当即请来英语教师翻译，并将样品送至工业园其他公司的化学博士鉴定，也一时难以拿出准确结果。
同时，另一路样品被送至中国公安部禁毒局实验室鉴定。结果显示：王波团伙生产的产品均系国家已管制的新精神活性物质。
研发销售“一条龙”运作
案件引发了中国公安部、湖北省公安厅的高度重视。两级领导亲自审讯了王波团伙。一条集发布广告、联系买家、采购原料、研制毒品、走私销售在内的产业链条浮出水面。
根据警方的调查，2010年5月至2014年年初，王波与妻子同在上海一家医药公司工作，王波担任研发团队负责人，带领约30人的队伍开发卡西酮等新精神活性物质的合成工艺，掌握相关产品生产技术。伍云原本在公司负责原材料采购。
了解到该类物质在国外需求量大、利润高，2014年年初，夫妇俩辞职回乡创业，组建团队独立生产、销售新精神活性物质。
团伙分工十分明确。王波是主要负责人，在化工专业网站英文版上发布广告，寻觅国外买家，随后与客户联系；伍云负责通过网络购买原材料，联系物流销售产品；王飞负责按照王波提供的工艺，组织工人进行大规模生产，同时还在王波指导下开展新精神活性物质研发实验。
2014年以来，伍云团伙从网上联系江苏、山东、武汉等地的化工公司购买原材料，其中包括国家列管的易制毒化学品。生产窝点则隐藏在武汉、黄石、黄冈黄州区的工业园内。产品制成后，该团伙再通过黄冈的物流公司，发往上海、深圳的国际物流公司，走私至国外。
一个细节是，王波团伙在通过物流销售产品至国外时，包装上产品名称、寄件人姓名与电话等，均不是真实信息。
根据警方的盘点，2014年以来，王波团伙通过快递公司共寄出甲卡西酮类毒品630公斤，获利近千万元。其中，非法获利450万元。
原来，2015年10月1日之后，尽管国家明确将2-甲基甲卡西酮、3-甲基甲卡西酮、4-氯甲卡西酮等产品列为毒品，王波团伙依然在2015年11月生产了370公斤左右的4-氯甲卡西酮，以及20公斤左右的2-甲基甲卡西酮，在今年3月生产了600公斤左右的4-氯甲卡西酮。
“由于新的管控目录出台，2015年10月1日，成为办理该案中的重要时间节点。”黄冈公安分局禁毒大队负责人谭作宏介绍，2015年10月1日后，上述产品已属毒品，生产、持有、销售均属非法。
暴利下的疯狂
10月27日，中国青年报·中青在线记者来到王波此前位于黄州某化工厂内的制毒基地。
近1000平方米的厂房，被划分为大厅、实验室、存储室等多个空间。大厅内陈设着反应釜、拖车等，外表看起来与一般化工车间无异。
在园区管理人员汪师傅的印象中，王波打着生产普通化学品的名义，每月用约1万元租用该车间，但平时甚少过来，约每月来一次，该车间主要是其堂弟王飞与几名工人出没，“白天似乎没啥生产活动，主要是夜间生产”。
园区有工人曾反映，夜间传出刺激性味道，但均被王飞以“属于正常生产、对人体无害”为由搪塞过去。
直到案发后，另一个细节才引起汪师傅的注意。此前，一有环保、安全生产等方面的检查，王波的车间便暂停生产、大门紧闭。王波王飞兄弟亦甚少与园区其他人员来往。
记者了解到，团伙3名主要人员中，不仅王波有光鲜的学历背景，伍云与王飞也是大学毕业生，分别毕业于湖南某高校制药工程专业、湖北某学院材料化学专业。其中，伍云29岁，王飞26岁。
今年6月9日，三人因涉嫌制造毒品被刑事拘留；7月15日，被黄州区人民检察院批准逮捕。
10月26日，在黄冈市看守所内，记者见到了高高瘦瘦的王波，他言谈思路十分清晰。
在他看来，学习对自己来说，自幼便不是什么困难事，尤其是化学，学起来并不费力。高三上学期，他凭借竞赛获奖顺利保送北京某著名学府。
大学毕业后，王波曾在湖南一家国企短暂工作过，但很快便辞职了。后来，他到上海工作、生活数年。2013年，孩子降生，夫妇俩在上海买了一套房子。
多方信源亦显示，在当地，王波自幼家境优渥，父亲是一名公务员。优异的学习成绩，使王波一度在当地被当做小孩读书的“标杆”。他缘何走上这样一条路？
警方的调查显示，王波曾分析发现，3-甲基甲卡西酮与一种毒品的分子结构十分相似，但不能肯定是不是毒品。王波曾咨询过几个朋友，均被建议不要生产。但是，王波“在查询后认为，该产品在中国没有管制，不属于毒品，而且利润空间很大”。事实上，短短一年多的利润，就让王波家有了奔驰越野车等高档物品，还有50余万美元存在国外银行。
今年年初，客户要求他用LED灯装产品，他“也曾怀疑过，但自己并未查询到2015年10月1日后产品已被列管”。
但是，与这一表述相矛盾的是，一份王波与国外客户于2015年10月21日的往来邮件中，在与买方议价时，王某有“我们可能会被跟踪，×××现在在中国是高风险的化学产品”等表述。
