  新加坡《联合早报》网站11月3日刊登题为《山区汲水路坎坷》的报道称,中国贵州省的前进村,由于地理环境问题,常年面对没有洁净水的困扰。多年来,村民为了取水而跋山涉水或收集雨水作为饮水来源。


  70 岁的老奶奶刘忠芬生活在中国贵州省毕节市黔西县大关镇前进村的寨子,丈夫六年前去世后,和视力不好的瘸脚长子李长西相依为命。除了每年春雨季节水源充足, 其他时候都要去很远的地方取水。刘忠芬腿脚不好,二儿子常年在贵阳打工,家里取水的重担落在李长西身上。但他走路一瘸一拐,每挑一次水就得走上一小时危险 的山路,还常常面临水源地干涸的窘况。别说正常灌溉庄稼,家里连饮水都成了生活难题。


  报道称,毕节是贵州省最贫困落后的地级市之一,年年入选中国的“贫困名单”。根据中国官方数据,2014年黔西县农民人均纯收入仅为6279元(人民币,下同),远远落后于中国平均水平。

  居住在这样环境里的人们,除了长途跋涉去挑水,多数依赖收集雨水作为饮水来源。但简陋的蓄水池和屋顶等用于收集的设施,卫生状况堪忧,储量也不足以支撑长达半年的旱季。


  报道称,若没足够的水灌溉,就会直接导致农作物歉收,收入减少。村里青壮劳力纷纷外出务工,留下的留守儿童与老人承担起人力运水的职责,山区路况不佳加上背负极重,危险的程度不在话下,意外频发也就不奇怪了。


  儿童每天花大量时间运送用水,牺牲的是宝贵的读书时间。缺水也带来极大的卫生难题。例如如厕后无法洗手,食材未经清洗便煮食,长时间不能洗澡等等。
