尼古拉斯于是采取法律途径起诉这家公司，胜诉后被告表示不服又上诉，结果二审依旧维持原判，并且要求这家公司立刻发货，另外还要赔偿原告的诉讼费以及承担1.5万澳元律师费。

钻石公司的经理说：“这场官司要让公司关张了，我们需要做出这枚钻戒然后关门。”经理表示，任何人都知道一枚2克拉的钻戒不可能只卖1100澳元，“我不敢相信法官竟判原告胜诉。”
