　　空军新闻发言人申进科说，1951年以来，中国已经培养出大量女性飞行员，其中歼- 10女飞行员最受人们关注，2005年表演队开始招收女飞行员，2009年4月她们以全优成绩毕业入编，与男性飞行员一同执行表演任务。

　　11月11日是人民空军成立67周年的日子。

　　11月12日，余旭和队友驾驶表演飞机在训练时，发生事故坠落到唐山陈家铺大杨铺村西南地里。前舱飞行员跳伞成功，后舱女飞行员余旭跳伞时，弹射时撞到僚机副翼，导致跳伞失败。

　　此前在珠海航展期间，在被问到飞行表演的安全问题时，八一飞行表演队队长曹振忠说：“八一飞行表演队一共有40多套动作，每次表演都是几套方案，后面还会不断改进和创新动作，我们的原则是精彩而不惊险，不会也不允许为求精彩而不顾忌安全。”

　　曹振忠说，选拔女飞行员到表演队，空军培养8批，第9批在航空大学，女歼击机飞行员的训练难度强度都和男性一样。表演对于每个人来讲，难度和安全意识都是一样的，唯一不同的是训练强度，男飞行员可能5个起落，女飞行员可能三四个起落。
