9月30日16点左右，中国最高人民检察院官方微博：山东临沂罗庄区检察院犯罪嫌疑人陈文辉等人，依法作出批准逮捕的决定。
当天，法律界人士接受记者采访时表示，不出意外，此案将在3个月内移交法院提起公诉，“主犯量刑应该不会低于7年”。
11月19日，徐玉玉父亲徐连彬在接受记者采访时，仍然处于悲痛之中。他说，孩子去世后的第一个月，两人不愿出门，把自己锁在家中，整日以泪洗面。

重拳打击电信诈骗
9月23日，中国最高人民法院、中国最高人民检察院、中国公安部、工业和信息化部、中国人民银行、中国银行业监督管理委员会六部门联合发布了《防范和打击电信网络诈骗犯罪的通告》，全面打击电信网络诈骗。
通告要求，凡是实施电信网络诈骗犯罪的人员，必须立即停止一切违法犯罪活动，并提出了若干具体的要求和举措，例如要求全面落地电话实名制等等。

9月9日，被外界称为“电信诈骗重镇”的徐玉玉案主要嫌犯籍贯所在地——福建省安溪县召开了“诚信建设千人大会”，代县长刘林霜宣读《致全县人民一封信》，并表态“坚决铲除电信诈骗犯罪毒瘤，全力打造诚信之安溪”，要求全县机关、企事业单位及村（居）“两委”的党员、干部、职工要规劝犯罪嫌疑人投案自首，发动群众检举揭发，积极为公安机关提供破案线索，切实形成打击工作合力，让诈骗分子成为“过街老鼠，人人喊打”。
