澎湃新闻记者通过搜索引擎，找到了数家号称免费观看的盗版网站，这些盗版网站非常类似，都称能通过解析的方式盗播视频网站上的部分付费内容。
在名为“未发行电影”、“看吧”等盗版网站上，澎湃新闻记者随机选择了爱奇艺、乐视网、腾讯视频上的部分付费内容，将视频连接复制到了盗版网站中，发现该网站确实能够直接播放完整的电影，而且可以调整清晰度，与在正规视频网站上观看体验无异。
其中，在不少盗版网站上观看盗版视频，用户无需付费甚至无需注册。
值得一提的是，在部分盗版网站被关闭后，其还能通过云盘的方式分享资源。
有盗版网站工作人员告诉澎湃新闻记者，“你想看什么直接找我就好了”，随即将记者加进了一个盗版资源共享的微信群组，这个群成员超过300人。
针对部分网站的盗播行为，爱奇艺方面回复澎湃新闻称，公司一直在技术层面增加对反盗版反盗链的打击，另一方面法务也会进行跟进，“现在也有一些小站在进行盗版，我们的技术部门和风控部门回去看它们怎么做得盗播，会把端口接口封掉。”
乐视公关部门也回复澎湃新闻记者，将对于盗版不惜余力进行打击。
同时，爱奇艺也呼吁网友和用户共同抵制侵权行为并坚决抵制盗版。
近年来，国家对盗版打击的力度不断增加，2014年4月，中国公安部查处了快播公司，2015年10月，国家版权局要求网盘服务商主动屏蔽一处侵权作品，防止用户违法上传、存储分享他人作品。在海外，2016年9月，两名中国字幕组成员因制作并传播日本动画的中文字幕，涉嫌违法《著作权法》而在日本被捕。
正版版权资源一直是视频网站烧钱争夺的重点，2016年，爱奇艺宣布2017年将投入100亿元进行内容版权建设。针对巨额的版权费用，视频网站开始建立会员付费体系，试图培养消费者的付费习惯。根据艺恩网2015年中国视频行业付费研究报告显示，2015年12月底国内视频网站付费用户规模达到2200万。这一群体还在扩大2016年以来，爱奇艺和腾讯相继宣布付费会员超过2000万人。
但网络视频盗版侵权现象并未被禁绝。
常见的视频盗版手段包括云盘分享下载，以正在更新的腾讯网独播剧集《西部世界》为例，腾讯网从制作方HBO处购买了版权，但是，澎湃新闻记者发现，在一家叫做“美剧汇”的网站上有着《西部世界》的免费资源，并提供在线观看和通过云盘下载。
