　　“秦始皇陵出土种类丰富的动物，包括真实动物随葬和以陶、铜模拟的动物，”秦始皇帝陵博物院副研究武丽娜认为，这在一定程度上反映了秦人在日常生活中积累经验，逐渐掌握了各类动物的习性，并学会了驯养与利用。

　　据初步统计，秦始皇陵出土的各类动物以马的数量最多，包括兵马俑一、二、三号坑出土的陶马、铜车马坑出土的铜马以及马厩坑出土的马骨三大类。其次数量较多的是珍禽异兽及水禽，以及出土后大量尚待鉴定的动物骨骼。

　　武丽娜表示，经历年考古发掘与研究，珍禽异兽坑曾出土鹿、麂类食草动物，及一些杂食动物；水禽坑中共计出土青铜禽46件，其中鹤6件、天鹅20件，其余为鸿雁等禽类；上焦村秦墓则出土有蚌贝饰件、羊骨、鸡骨，陵北部分陪葬墓出土有珍珠；陵园外城北侧一号大型陪葬坑出土10余种禽、兽、鱼鳖的残骨等。

　　从用于食用到娱乐的“动物世界”

　　古人重视死后的地下世界，讲究事死如事生。古代人丧葬理念多有陪葬动物的习俗，古代埃及也有木乃伊猫、狗、鳄鱼等出土。古代中国帝王的地下世界里自然缺不了用于食用或娱乐的“动物世界”。

　　考古证实，秦代对动物的利用至少达到12种。马是一种战略资源，因此占有特别地位；鹿、麂是野生动物，是体现狩猎行为的产品；鱼鳖、鸡羊属于可食用动物；蚌贝等属于装饰品。天鹅、鹤等禽类动物较为罕见，在陵园7号坑展现的是人驯养禽类动物的场景，表现出人与禽类动物、自然环境和谐相处的画面。

　　陕西省秦俑学研究会副会长、秦始皇帝陵博物院院长侯宁彬说，人与动物自古难舍难分，动物世界与人类世界是相辅相成的。相较于古人的认知水平，如今的生物多样性保护等理念在动物考古学兴起后应当大力倡导。
