　　近期，中科院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所研究人员在曲靖富源地区三叠纪中期的石灰岩地层中，发现一个近乎完整骨架的动物，它长约两米，全身披甲，颈粗尾长，口中利齿参差，四肢短小壮硕并且有蹼，是史前近岸海洋环境中凶猛的掠食动物。

　　新发现的化石被命名为梦境滨鳄，意思是“梦境中海滩上的鳄形动物”。项目负责人李淳研究员说，化石发现后不久的一个夜晚，他在睡梦中看到一条巨大的鳄形动物在海边漫步，于是便取了这个名字。

　　曾在贵州发现此类化石

　　研究显示，这种动物属于非常原始的主龙类，主龙类又被称为初龙类，原意是指“占统治地位的爬行动物”，这一类群包括人们所熟悉的恐龙、翼龙和鳄类等。在最早的恐龙出现之前，各种原始主龙类已经是地球上非常繁盛的爬行动物。

　　长期以来，人们认为除了某些鳄鱼之外主龙类基本上是陆地动物，直至2006年中科院古脊椎动物与古人类研究所的科研人员在贵州盘县首次发现海生类型的早期主龙类化石。富源梦境滨鳄，是此类化石的第二次发现。

　　这个发现表明，爬行动物演化的主干，主龙类在其历史的很早阶段就已经开始半水生的海洋生活了。

　　三叠纪
