当天下午17点34分，山西长治医学院附属和平医院发布了一个暴力袭医事件的情况报告。
报告中显示：
受害医生申雯，女性，1984年1月生，2011年毕业于大连医科大学，硕士研究生学历，同年来我院工作，现任感染性疾病科住院医师。受害人双侧胸部、颈部、双手共见9处刀刺伤，其中1处刺破心脏，导致心脏破裂，心包填塞，休克。
这名医生为何会遭人连刺数刀？央视记者前往山西长治进行调查。
医院：事发会诊途中 女医生身中九刀
在和平医院监控室内，央视记者看到了事发时的监控画面。22日上午，医生申雯从传染科大楼走出，前往医院主楼进行会诊，而另外一个监控视频则拍摄到了患者家属彭某正走向传染科大楼。

隐约可以看到两个人的身影，患者家属彭某在遇到医生申雯的第一时间立即将申雯推倒在地，并连刺数刀。

24日下午，在经过两天的抢救后，医生申雯暂时脱离了生命危险，她向记者简单回述了事发时的情况。
申雯：当时我下夜班。我去会诊，走在路上心情挺好的，看见我的一个病人的家属，我就和他打招呼，我说孩子用上药了。他没有表情，到了我跟前，忽然一刀上来。我这个时候才反应过来，他捅我了。他把我推倒以后就拿刀狠扎我，我当时有点莫名其妙的，然后反应了一下，就和他去抢刀。我把刀柄给抢下来，他那个刀可能质量不太好，然后他就掐我的脖子。
整个过程持续了30秒左右，随后彭某被一名医院的保安拉开。
长治医学院附属和平医院保安 郑建国：当时有一个女的吼叫救命，见后我把那个男的拖起来了。
申雯在摆脱彭某后，立即跑回了传染科大楼，大楼内部的一段监控视频可以看到，申雯的制服上有多处血迹。

申雯立即被送往急诊科手术室进行抢救，随后被送往重症监护室。
施暴者为患者家属 已自首
还是在事发当天（22日）下午 山西长治医学院附属和平医院官网发布的了一份情况报告，对施暴者的相关信息进行了披露。
报告中的信息显示：
施暴者彭晓亚，男，36岁，长子县丹朱镇南刘村人，当天上午行凶后逃离现场。据公安机关提供的信息，上午11时彭晓亚投案自首。而对于事件的初步调查显示，彭晓亚女儿（4岁）因手足口病在该院感染性疾病科住院治疗，事发时病情较入院时好转，此前未发生医患纠纷。
那么，作为患者家属的彭某，又为什么要对治病救人的申雯医生连刺数刀呢？
事发前6天嫌疑人带女儿转院治疗
长治市城区分局英雄南路派出所 办案民警：彭某来到派出所的时候比较语无伦次，我问他来干什么？他说是来投案自首的，捅伤一个医生。他说带着孩子看病，然后小毛病看成大问题了，其它的没有详细再说。

由于彭某已经被警方刑事拘留，案件还在进一步调查，央视记者无法采访到彭某。记者从和平医院了解到，事发前6天，也就是16日的下午，彭某带着四岁的女儿转院到和平医院，而申雯就是孩子的主治医生。
长治医学院附属和平医院感染科副主任医师 陈素玲：孩子发烧，精神差，食欲差，体征就是手上和口腔里头有疹子，足上还不是太多，有点皮疹，然后就是咽部稍微有点肿，扁桃体稍微有点大。
医院初步诊断孩子为手足口病和扁桃体炎，要求进行腰椎穿刺术，来确定是否有脑炎并发症。
长治医学院附属和平医院感染科副主任医师 陈素玲：17日上午跟他谈话，说这个孩子精神不好，持续发烧，晚上还有失惊的症状，这一般就是中枢神经系统症状，这种情况下一般考虑到有脑炎的状况存在。我们老主任查了房，就跟他讲，可能需要做一个腰穿。

申雯：彭某就说要观察，说要影响孩子生命，他不干，就是观察。
经过医生的解释，彭某同意了对孩子进行腰椎穿刺术。家人说，进行完腰椎穿刺术，看到孩子仍然昏昏沉沉的，彭某着急了。
彭某的母亲：他觉得拽都拽不起，说你起来吧孩子，就不起。他说是不是做坏了？怎么不起来？
患者家属：事发因不信任医生治疗
而后，医院又提出，患儿尚不能完全排除脑炎可能，病情仍较严重，建议加用丙种球蛋白静点，并短期加用甘露醇观察病情变化。彭某仍表示反对。
彭某的母亲：孩子他父亲想，是不是做腰穿对孩子不好，输这个丙种球蛋白，他上网查了查，上面说输这个就是怕得传染病。
在医生们的解释下，彭某和家人最终同意实施医院的治疗方案。第二天，输入丙种球蛋白后，孩子的体温降了下来。彭某的家人说，在整个治疗过程中，彭某和医生申雯发生了短暂的争执。
>彭某的母亲：申雯说了好几遍，小孩死掉我不负责，这句话本身就不好听。可是我们作为看病家属，不能和她吵，就和她说好话。
但申雯否认自己说过这句话。
申雯：因为你在这不听我们的治疗，我们不能眼睁睁看着孩子有危险啊，就是这样的。
彭某的家人还说，申雯在接下来的三天都没有出现，这让他们觉得，申雯并不关心自己的孩子。
彭某的母亲：就是这个李主任在这照看我们，过来弄弄问一问，这三天是他。赶到星期一（21日）上了班，申雯来了，说退下烧了吧？退下了。她说治疗没错吧，就走了。

申雯：后面我去开会，整件事就交给上级医生了。案发那天是我刚从太原回来，我星期六、星期天去开了两天会。
事发当天嫌疑人一早买刀 施暴伤医
彭某家人称，事发前一天，彭某看到女儿精神食欲不振，认为病情没有明显好转，再联想到这几天申雯并没有出现，越想越生气。
彭某的岳母：他（彭某）一晚上走过来走过去，气得不行。我就倒了两杯水，看他一直走过来走过去，一直到凌晨四点多。
警方告诉央视记者，第二天一早，彭某便出去买了一把刀，在返回传染科大楼的路上，遇上了准备前往主楼会诊的申雯，悲剧发生。
患者已出院 施暴嫌疑人被立案侦查
经过近10天的治疗，施暴者彭某的女儿已于11月25日下午出院。目前，犯罪嫌疑人彭某已被公安机关以涉嫌故意杀人罪立案侦查。
