根据有关监控视频、行车记录仪视频及目击群众反映情况查实，当日上午11时23分许，黄某在其工作的餐馆辞职后，携带个人行李离开餐馆，沿乌沙环南路、振荣南路自西往东步行直行；11时27分许，涉案运钞车从大朗镇执行押运任务前往长安镇，正行驶在松山湖新城路。
11时54分许，黄某经过振荣南路某出租屋门前；涉案运钞车经过长安镇德政中路。
12时02分许，涉案运钞车从一龙路转弯自东往西进入振荣南路，此时，一辆号牌为粤S8XXXX的社会车辆正好跟随运钞车行驶，该车行车记录仪完整记录了运钞车转入振荣南路直至12时04分被黄某第一次打砸全过程。
根据视频监控、行车记录仪视频及警方调查，12时04分运钞车在振荣南路红绿灯路口停车等待绿灯时，遭黄某使用石块等物扔砸；车右后视镜被黄某掰断丢弃至路边绿化带。涉事运钞车立即闯红灯前行躲避，由于车流密集无法前行而第二次停车，黄某追上来继续用石块砸击车窗。运钞车继续前行通过红绿灯后第三次停车，车内人员报警并报告所属公司调度室，此时黄某再次追上用石块砸车窗玻璃。运钞车继续前行一段距离后第四次停车，等候公司指令，此时黄某又上前打砸运钞车。运钞车又继续前行一段距离躲避并第五次停车，黄某再次追上运钞车打砸，期间押运员梁某开枪将黄某击倒。此时运钞车距离第一次被打砸地点共约460米。
专案组还走访调查了案发地附近凉茶店、手机店、自行车维修店及附近工厂员工、路过现场的司机等10余名，均表示未见到运钞车与黄某发生擦碰。其中，曾接受媒体采访称目击黄某与运钞车发生过擦碰的莫某、朱某、高某、肖某，均表示未亲眼看到运钞车与黄某发生过擦碰，只是听到别人议论和猜测的。
另经勘查，涉案运钞车除砖石敲击凹擦痕迹外，车身四周灰尘分布均匀，未出现明显的灰尘擦划痕迹。综合相关勘查、调查情况及视频资料，在黄某第一次打砸运钞车前，双方行进路线没有交集，排除运钞车与黄某发生过碰撞、摩擦的情况。
