河西学院医学院是原张掖医专2014年底并入后成立的二级学院。学校高度重视并入后教师的师德师风教育，积极引导教师树立良好的师德规范。在学校融合发展之际，发生吕平严重违背师德、侮辱殴打伤害学生、损害教师形象和学校声誉的事件，性质极其恶劣，学校深感震惊和痛心。学校向所有受害学生诚恳致歉！
学校在得知此事消息后，第一时间责成医学院立即进行调查核实。确认情况属实后，当即要求医学院领导深入学生宿舍，看望慰问学生，责成吕平向受害学生公开赔礼道歉。
学校连夜召开会议，对此事件做出如下处理决定：
一、依据《中华人民共和国教师法》等相关法律规定，对吕平予以解聘。
二、学校将认真做好受害学生的心理干预和疏导，积极帮助学生开展正常的学习生活，尊重和保护受害和反映问题学生的合法权益。
