距离法国首都巴黎200多公里，坐落着著名的冈城和平纪念馆。这里不仅详细记载了二战中诺曼底登陆的史实，还是欧洲二战类纪念馆中唯一一个本身就设有南京大屠杀内容的场馆。
当地时间10月22日揭幕的《共同见证：1937南京大屠杀》大型史实展已经在这里设展50多天，在接待了近3万名参观者后，将于12月15日落下帷幕。这是南京大屠杀档案被联合国教科文组织列入世界记忆名录后首次在欧洲展出，部分内容更是首次在海外展出。
800多平方米的展区内，陈列着当年身处南京的欧美教授、传教士、医生、记者、外交官等留下的日记、书信、文件、照片和影像等资料，记录了日本侵略者的残暴行径，以第三方视角向西方人讲述了南京大屠杀。
法国观众说：“在法国，我上小学时就学到了南京大屠杀这段历史。我所在的城市在二战中也遭到了轰炸，所以来这里参观非常有感触。这个悲剧造成的死难者人数之多、国际社会对这一事件曾经了解之少，都令人震惊。”
法国冈城和平纪念馆馆长格里马尔迪说：“南京大屠杀的史实不容否认。二战期间，中国在亚洲战场发挥了重要作用。冈城和平纪念馆就是交给观众一把钥匙，让他们走进南京大屠杀这段历史，以史为鉴，对二战中发生的暴行有更深入的认识和思考。”

美国南加州大学犹太大屠杀基金会理事说：“对中国老人远赴美国录制证言表示敬意。”

与此同时,中国、韩国、菲律宾等11个国家和地区在今年联合将"慰安妇"历史资料申请世界记忆名录。一部记录2014年仅存的22位公开身份的中国"慰安妇"生活现状的记录电影《二十二》引起海外媒体的广泛关注。
纪录电影《二十二》导演郭柯说：“截止到2016年11月，这22位老人又去世了9位。我们做这个事情，完全是在跟时间赛跑。接下来我们也在努力推动这部纪录片在国内外电影院的公映。”

南京大屠杀史实的国际化传播吸引着越来越多外国友人来到中国。金世恩是韩国朝鲜大学中文专业的大三学生。今年7月，她以国际志愿者的身份来到侵华日军南京大屠杀遇难同胞纪念馆，除从事展览解说词的韩语翻译工作，她还为游客导览器录制韩语介绍，热情接待来自世界各地的参观者。
韩国志愿者金世恩说：“就在几天前，我参加了纪念馆发起的百人共述南京大屠杀惨痛历史的‘众筹声音’项目，我的中文并不流利，但也希望通过自己的微薄力量，让更多人了解这段历史。”
