Canada: salmon was detected radioactive elements, Fukushima-Fukushima due to nuclear proliferation, nuclear accident, salmon-IT information

Canada Victoria University Oceanography experts have said they in Canada salmon on the West Coast, and radioactive elements caesium-134 has been detected for the first time, prove Japan nuclear contamination has spread to North America. This is in Europe and the media have been reported in North America in the near future after being contaminated fish occurs in the Pacific Rim, Canada experts confirm this message for the first time. CCTV reporter in Toronto to interview this expert-JIEYI·kalun Professor at the University of Victoria.

JIEYI·kalun is a Professor of Earth and Ocean Sciences, University of Victoria, starting in 2014, he and his research team and 600 volunteers, began tracking the spread of nuclear pollution, they collected more than 400 species of fish and water samples for testing.

Earth and Ocean Sciences, Victoria University Professor JIEYI·kalun: artificial radioactive elements in order to detect fish, in 2015, we caught some fish, these fish and we've captured in the past 3 years, more than 400 pieces of fish are different. Other fish we did not detect artificial radioactive elements, in which fish we've detected another artificial radioactive cesium-137, so we decided to determine the content and relationships with Fukushima. Our approach is to find the cesium-134 because the isotopes have a half-life of 2 years. We found caesium-134, indicates that the fish is Fukushima affected.

Environment there are traces of cesium-137 and CS-134, they are the result of human activities. Caesium-137 has a half-life of 30 years, so if a cesium-137 was detected in the salmon, is also likely to come from other nuclear activities, such as nuclear testing, etc. Caesium-134 has a half-life of approximately 2 years, Fukushima, in 2011, so if caesium-134 has been detected from the Pacific, from Fukushima will be ascertained, it was known as the "fingerprint of the Fukushima nuclear pollution".
