上午9点多，@侵华日军南京大屠杀遇难同胞纪念馆官方微博也发布：我们再一次很悲伤的告诉大家：南京大屠杀幸存者沈宗海于今早6时左右去世，享年88岁。沈宗海出生于1928年12月7日，刚刚过完88周岁的他没能跨进2017年的大门，令人无比心痛！1937年，沈宗海全家逃到金陵女子大学难民区，他的二哥沈宗濂被日军抓走并杀害。战后，老人跟子女生活在一起，最大的爱好就是集邮。愿来世再无苦痛，老人一路走好！
据了解，日军侵占南京时，沈宗海家住南京城南大板巷32号。老人曾经作过证言说道，“抗战胜利后，国民党政府发来表格要我们登记，我父亲也将二哥的情况填写了，最后也没有消息。当时，与我二哥同时被抓的人都没有回来，他们一定是被日军从难民区抓走后惨遭杀害了。”
