1月4日20：27，广西凭祥人民政府发布《凭祥市突发一起持刀伤人事件（续报一）》，称4日15时20分许，一名嫌疑人潜入凭祥市小聪仔幼儿园砍伤12名幼儿（其中重伤5名）。目前41岁的嫌疑人覃鹏安已被警方控制。

根据续报，当日15时20分许，嫌疑人覃鹏安（男，广西凭祥市凭祥镇南山村板必屯人）身藏一把菜刀，以接小孩为由骗过小聪仔幼儿园门卫，来到该幼儿园其小孩覃某某所在的大班（该幼儿园仅一个大班），对正在用餐的学生乱砍。
当时正在组织学生用餐的该大班班主任莫小荣、覃小宁见状立即持塑料凳与嫌疑人对抗。随后嫌疑人被那艾边防派出所民警控制。
经核查，嫌疑人覃鹏安无吸毒和精神病史。
另经初步了解，嫌疑人覃鹏安感觉自己平时在村里受到欺负，遂对村里在小聪仔幼儿园读书的小孩进行刀砍报复泄愤。目前，当地警方正在组织警力全力侦查，查明嫌疑人伤害原因。同时凭祥市公安局要求各挂点副校长到学校开展安全检查工作。相关情况待续报。

根据事发地附近商铺老板小天（化名）提供给记者的数段视频显示，疑似为小聪仔幼儿园的案发现场，有多名幼儿浑身是血站在园内，虽然旁边有大人安抚，依然不停地大声哭泣。其中一段视频，则是在医院内的医生为遇袭幼儿紧急处理伤口。
小天（化名）告诉记者，事故发生地马路对面就是凭祥市友谊镇镇政府，直线距离只有一百多米。

根据更早些时候，南国早报发布的《凭祥公安信息》通报内容，“经初查，该嫌疑人共看上学生约11人（暂无生命危险）。”通报还称，事故发生后，凭祥市公安局赶往现场处置，控制犯罪嫌疑人覃某，并将受伤幼儿送往6公里外的凭祥市人民医院救治。而伤重的3名幼儿，被送往200公里外广西医科大学附属医院救治。
通报中还称，嫌疑人姓覃，1975年生，来自凭祥镇南山村板必屯村。板必屯村位于小聪仔幼儿园东南方向，约1.4公里处。
记者随即（thecover.cn）致电广西大学附属医院值班室，工作人员表示不方便提供相关情况。
