1月4日，现代快报记者联系到了救学生的老师谢晓敏，他是东海中等专业学校16水晶班的班主任，回想起救人的一幕，谢晓敏说他至今心有余悸，“当时什么也没有想，就想把孩子救过来，我觉得自己当时真的有点胆大妄为，如果没有救过来，我现在都不敢想象事情会怎么样。”据谢晓敏介绍，事情发生在2016年12月29日早晨7点30分，当天室外寒气逼人，自己正在操场边查看班级的同学跑操情况。

为防止刘强再次昏厥，谢晓敏不顾室外的瑟瑟寒风，不假思索地将自己的外套脱了下来，将刘强包紧搂在怀中，等待急救车的到来。同时，他用手不停拍着刘强的肩膀，安慰他。很快，救护车赶到现场，刘强随即被送往医院。为确保刘强能够安全脱离危险，谢晓敏联系上刘强的父母，了解他的病史，原来，刘强患有先天性心脏病，经治疗痊愈后出院。但在小学阶段，曾复发一次，因及时抢救至今没有再犯。
