据江苏省公安厅交巡警总队介绍，12月5日夜至6日凌晨，因雾霾能见度下降，江苏沿海高速南通至盐城段、盐徐高速盐城段、宁靖盐高速盐城段、宁通高速南通段、崇启大桥、济徐高速、启扬高速等路段再次关闭。直到6日上午8时许，上述路段才全部解除管制。
此前，12月4日傍晚至5日上午，江苏全省高速公路，除京台高速公路徐州段外，都相继关闭，直至5日中午10时50分许，才全部开通。
江苏省公安厅交巡警总队高速公路管理处政委王文介绍，最近一段时间，整个长三角地区雾霾严重，且雾霾天气还在持续。未来几天，视雾霾严重程度，江苏高速不排除还将实施特级管制措施。因此民众出行，要注意选择时间点，尽量避开雾霾严重的晚间和清晨。
按照江苏省高速公路管理的相关规定，能见度不足30米时，实行特级管制。除特别紧急公务、紧急抢险救护等特殊车辆在警车引领下通行外，管制路段禁止其他各类车辆驶入高速公路。已驶入高速公路的车辆须开启雾灯、近光灯、示廓灯、前后位灯及危险报警闪光灯，并以不超过20公里／小时的速度就近驶离高速公路或进入服务区休息。
