　　毕美家表示，转基因产品大规模的种植在世界上已有17年的历史，现在没有发生一起被科学所证明它是有安全问题的案例。世界卫生组织、联合国粮农组织都一再表明，经过安全论证的转基因产品与其他传统的农产品、传统的食品一样安全。

　　毕美家指出，人们对转基因也有疑虑和担心，主要是转基因在中国发展时间比较短，人们对转基因技术不了解，加上科普宣传不够。所以下一步要加大科普宣传的力度，使更多人知道转基因是一个什么样的事物，从而认识它、理解它。随着实践的发展和科普宣传的深入，人们对转基因产品疑虑是可以逐步打消。
