据了解，昆明市教育局随后成立工作组到昆明市财经商贸学校开展调查。昆明市财经商贸学校5日发布的通报称：12月4日8时5分，1201班班主任在校内公开栏内看到本班3日晚自习操行考评为最差的C等，为了对学生进行警示、提醒、扭转班风，班主任利用学校晨会时间将上晚自习的31名同学(12名男生，19名女生)召集到公开栏前进行说服教育，但部分同学仍然纪律散漫，班主任就采取做10个俯卧撑的方式处理。该校4日曾回应，“有部分女同学没有做，自己跪趴在地上。”
