法院经审理查明，被告人魏继伯先后担任安徽省环境监察局副局长、正处级调研员等职务，其于2008年10月到2013年1月期间，在环境执法检查过程中，多次非法收受安徽省萧县林平纸业有限公司、安徽金玉米农业科技开发有限公司等29家企业所送财物，其中人民币135．9万元，购物卡10．5万元、美元3000元。案发后，被告人魏继伯向灵璧县人民检察院退出全部赃款。
法院认为：被告人魏继伯身为国家工作人员，利用职务之便，非法收受财物为他人谋取利益，其行为已构成受贿罪，应依法惩处。被告人魏继伯案发后能如实供述大部分未被办案机关掌握的犯罪事实，积极退赃，有悔罪表现，依法予以从轻处罚。依照《中华人民共和国刑法》第三百八十五条第一款等法条，判决被告人魏继伯犯受贿罪，判处有期徒刑十一年，剥夺政治权利两年。被告人已就判决结果提起上诉。
据介绍，魏继伯于2008年11月被任命为安徽省环境保护局环境监察局副局长，于2009年2月起负责工业环境监察与环境事件调查，分管监察稽察室；于2012年5月被免去副局长，任命为安徽省环境保护厅环境监察局调研员，负责全省环境应急与事故的调查处理工作，指导、协调地方政府对突发环境事件的应急、预警工作，参与重大环境污染纠纷的协调、处理工作，分管环境应急办公室。
记者采访了解到，魏继伯并不是今年以来安徽省环保系统“倒下”的唯一干部。2013年9月，安徽省环保厅原调研员汪国良就因涉嫌受贿102万元被检察机关提请诉讼；2013年11月，安徽省蒙城县环保局原副局长赵瑞因受贿一审被判处有期徒刑5年。从2012年年底起，安徽省检察机关侦破了该省环保系统的一批贪污贿赂的大案、要案、窝案和串案，涉及该省环保厅及全部16个市的环保相关部门。
