对于韩国的延展，中国外交部发言人洪磊此前回应：
洪磊：防空识别区不是领空，是一国在领空之外的空域划设的识别和监控区，与海空管辖没有关系，韩方扩大防空识别区的做法应该符合国际法和国际惯例。中方愿在平等和相互尊重的基础上与韩方保持沟通。
而美国副总统拜登东亚三国之行，日本政府希望美国就要求中国撤回防空识别区达成书面共识，未能如愿，而朴槿惠与拜登会面之后，也在识别区上有所动作。中国国际问题研究所研究员杨希雨认为，这个时机，韩国此举太过"情绪化"。
杨希雨：韩国进一步扩展防空识别区首先是对这个地区现在紧张微妙的局势应该讲不是一个积极的举措，从中国的角度应该讲对这个事态是感到遗憾的，这个倒不是因为韩国没有权利来扩展防空识别区，而是在于这个行动在我看来是有一个情绪化的一个驱动。把这个防空识别区从支持自己国家对某个地区的主权所有给联系起来，这个显然不是一个积极的举措。第二个就是说在东亚这样一个地理环境下，有关各国的防空识别区发生重叠，这个是难以避免。中韩之间我想已经建立了一个军事热线，而且也有很好的沟通机制，所以说我觉得在韩国进一步扩大防空识别区之后，中韩就更应该加强磋商和沟通。
相对刚刚召开首次国家安全会议，对修改和平宪法念念不忘的安倍内阁，军事专家尹卓将军认为，中韩之间的区域分歧不构成重大冲突。
尹卓：中韩双方都知道防空识别区是一种防御性的措施，不是一种进攻性的措施，所以中国划定的防空识别区对韩国，韩国扩大防空识别区对中国都不是一种进攻性的措施，我想这个双方之间是可以通过谈判或者是沟通的方法能够缓解或者能够解决的。
防空识别区没有主权的含义，但韩国显然认为今天宣布的空管范围弥补了过去的空缺。杨希雨认为，此举也针对日本可能再一次扩大防空识别区的用意。
杨希雨：朝鲜战争期间美国就给韩国划了防空识别区，日本的防空识别区也是美国划的，日本从美国接过防空识别区以后，已经擅自扩大了两次了，现在日本大肆炒作中国的东海防空识别区，实际上就是有可能为自己进一步扩大防空识别区在做铺垫，这一点韩国看的很清楚。就是他不能排除日本进一步扩大防空识别区的时候他自己先来个争取主动，他先扩大了。
面对最近就航空或者是防空识别区的各方动向，尹卓认为，想明白实质，问题并不复杂。
尹卓：就是不要把防空识别区跟任何主权问题联系在一块，比如说领土的占有和海域划界、战略经济区和大陆架的划线把它联系起来，跟这个没有任何关系，我也大约想通这个问题了，可能这一复杂的情况就比较容易解开扣了。
