12月6日，受日本“中国战争受害者证言集会邀请会”邀请，82岁的南京大屠杀幸存者王津老人及其家属在纪念馆工作人员陪同下，经由上海前往日本，将在南京大屠杀发生76周年之际，参加在大阪、神户、名古屋、金泽、东京等城市举行的南京大屠杀幸存者证言集会，为期9天。
现有史料及个人相关材料证实，1937年12月13日南京城沦陷之际，当时只有6岁的王津跟家人居住在城南的南珍珠巷，其父亲和邻居被日军抓走。后来，邻居侥幸逃回，但其父亲却被日军连刺7刀后扔在死尸坑中，不幸遇难。
12月11日-16日，受日本熊本县日中友好协会邀请，89岁的南京大屠杀幸存者岑洪桂老人及其家属将在有关人士陪同下前往熊本、长崎、福冈等地，参加在当地举行的南京大屠杀幸存者证言集会。岑洪桂当时住在汉中门外，他家的稻草房被日军点火焚烧，一个弟弟被烧死，他本人腿部被烧伤，妹妹则被日军开枪打伤。
据悉，自1994年开始，每年都有南京大屠杀幸存者赴日本参加南京大屠杀证言集会，迄今已有32批共47人次，他们以其亲身经历讲述了侵华日军的种种暴行，让许多日本民众了解到历史的真相，有力回击了少数日本右翼分子否认南京大屠杀的谬论。
