  实际上,彭宇的情况在江苏建院并非个案。据该校教务处主任刘海波介绍,这些插班生在校也被称为“进修生”,他们中既有彭宇这样的“高考失利者”,也有不少来自企业的青年。他们放弃复读或者其他途径,选择以插班听课的方式进入江苏建院学习,不被纳入学籍管理,但被编入正规班级,与全日制学生一起上课生活,甚至连军训都须参加,而毕业时只能获得学校提供的一纸证书,记录着他们在校所修课程、学分和成绩等。学校对他们的培养过程与普通在校生基本一致,但是权益上有所区别,比如在奖学金等方面有所限制。


  近年来,江苏建院的“插班生”人数逐年增多,目前在校的近400人,“仅今年学校接纳的就有160多人,如果不是出于管理问题加以限制,肯定不只这个数字。”刘海波说。


  一所高职院校何以能吸引这么多学生不要学籍、不求文凭,只为插班听课呢?对这些入学成绩参差不齐的学生而言,这一形式又能否真正在其就业和发展道路上,起到良性推动作用?近日,中国青年报记者带着这些疑问走进了江苏建院。


  本科生“插班”高职只求学“真本事”


  谈起江苏建院的历史,学校师生首先津津乐道的便是该校的军校背景,也因此渊源,学校至今都保持着半军事化管理的传统,每天严格考勤的早操制度就是其体现之一。


  对于建筑工程管理学院工程造价专业的插班生赵帅(化名)来说,每天出早操是自己“上一个大学生活”中难以想象的,“那时肯定起不来床。2011年毕业于南京某本科高校土木工程专业的他,在一家建筑公司工作了两年后,决定重回校园“深造”,开启“另一个大学生活”。


  之所以作出这样的选择,赵帅解释说,“主要是为了自己以后的职业发展”。他曾在公司里做过很长一段时间的项目经理,因为不懂工程造价的相关知识,经常难以应对工作中出现的诸多问题,“像投标、做预算都得找别人来做,特别不方便,于是想自己学一下造价,再做心里也更有底。”


  通过亲友介绍,他了解到江苏建院的建筑工程类专业,“大家都‘认’,造价专业也排名靠前。”所以,选择来此插班,至于有没有文凭学历,“我不在乎,就是想来学本事的”。


  在江苏建院党委书记袁洪志看来,就业质量是吸引插班生的重要因素,事关其发展的后劲和可持续性,而且在实际工作中,大多数企业并不太计较学生的文凭和学历,更多是按照学生的“本事”给待遇、招人才。


  “一个典型的例子就是‘金螳螂’的到来。”袁洪志介绍说,今年,苏州金螳螂建筑装饰股份有限公司首次来到江苏建院举行专场招聘会,此前这家连续10年在中国建筑装饰百强企业排名第一的公司,基本都是去本科院校招聘,而这次却选择来该学院招聘,最强有力的原因就是:据该公司统计,其区域项目主管中江苏建院毕业的学生占有很大比重。


  “技术过硬、有真本事的学生自然待遇好、前景广,与此同时这些高质量的学生也提高了社会和企业对学校的认可度、知名度,为学校与企业的合作无形中牵了线。总之,学生是学校最好的名片”。袁洪志说。


  企业青年插班生只为满足“强烈的求知欲望”


  虽然同为来自企业职工的插班生,但刘建东的起点明显比赵帅要低得多。


  初中毕业后就在外打工的刘建东,28岁重返校园时,已经10多年没拿起过书本,“底子薄的程度就像纸片一样”。


  起初,凭借在工地上的那股“能吃苦、爱问好学”的劲头和对建筑业的兴趣,还是民工身份的刘建东得到了当时工地领导的推荐,后经公司帮助,获得了来江苏建院建工专业插班听课的机会。


  但是到这里仅一周,原本满怀期待的他,便萌生了放弃的念头。


  “就像听天书似的”,刘建东回忆说,尽管由于此前在施工现场工作的经历让他能够比较轻松地应对专业课的学习,可是在数学、物理等公共课面前,他完全束手无策。


  准备打“退堂鼓”的他找到班主任宋功业,将自己的困境告诉了这位也是“从施工现场来到校园”的老教授。宋老师用心开导他,一番鼓励下,刘建东重拾信心。“当时,宋老师对我说,要想把课补上去,一定要靠自己。先花一学期时间,把课先听懂了”。


  为了把课补上,刘建东把自己“能吃苦”的劲头发挥到了极致。他从同学那里借来中学的理科教材,从头开始学,别人上课的时候他跟着上课,别人下课的时候他继续复习,生活里几乎没有任何缝隙,插班三年连走出校门看看的次数都屈指可数。


  虽然学得苦,但令他感激的是,不仅有像宋功业这样的老教授点拨他,班里还有同学专门帮他补课,大二时,他已经从一开始班里的倒数第一名跃升至前几名。后来,毕业回到公司后,他一步步做到了设计部经理的职位,这个原本只有初中文化水平的“民工”,现在手下的员工不少都是本科生和研究生。回顾那三年插班经历,刘建东感慨,最大的收获就是把自己爱学习钻研的精神给彻底激发出来了。


  在宋功业眼中,这个弟子给他最深的印象,便是其“强烈的求知欲望”。


  事实上,这也正是大部分企业青年插班生的特点之一。重返校园的赵帅深感“压力大增”,对知识的渴求和学习态度,与以往大不相同,也更加珍惜,“目的很单一,也十分明确,就是来学知识的。”


  部分插班生为自主招生作准备


  “目标明确、准员工化、个人社会化程度高是企业青年插班生的主要特点”,在江苏建院学工处副处长胡永看来,这部分学生主要是为了学习技术和技能,提高知识层次。“而除此之外的另一大类插班生在学习专业知识的同时,还在为参加学校的自主招生考试作准备。”


  这类插班生不少是“高考失利者”,家人多从事建筑行业,父母亲友希望其能够在江苏建院接受相关专业的学习,掌握一技之长,为以后就业或者继承家业作打算。这些学生大都在学校边修习边准备学校的自主招生考试,一旦通过考试,其之前课程所修学分也能够被学校所认可计入。


  19岁的张奇正在准备明年江苏建院组织的自主招生考试,自称“高中时都玩烦了”的他,插班之后“开始懂事了”,“一方面是家庭的压力,另一方面作为插班生还是有点心理落差”。张奇说。


  虽然张奇还有一个姐姐和一个妹妹,但是父亲还是希望他这个唯一的儿子能够承担起家族企业,这对张奇而言,是个“不小的压力”,接受父母建议进入江苏建院建筑钢结构工程技术专业插班听课之后,他所学内容与家中企业从事领域相契合,“从小身边就是这些东西,所以学起来更容易些”。


  现在,每周末回家时,他都会想着去厂里看看,“至少能分辨出这些工程和产品的优劣了”。不过,在张奇看来,插班能否学到东西,关键还是要看学生自己,“师傅领进门,修行看个人”。


  插班生的管理是个新课题


  不论是民工身份的刘建东,还是拥有家族企业的张奇,不论是企业青年,还是高考失利者,这些形形色色的插班生,“实际上是现在高职院校生源越来越多样化的一个体现,也是社会需求更加多元化的表现。”袁洪志对此分析说,通过各种方式招进来的学生,其知识水平和差距不一,情况各异,因此在培养方式上要注重精细化。早在三年前,学院就开始提倡分类培养、分层教学,从而使每类学生、不同层次的学生都能得到提升。


  随着各类情况和背景的插班生的到来,学生管理工作也面临着新的挑战和课题。据刘海波介绍,这些学生毕竟不纳入学籍管理,入校前虽然学校跟企业或家长有一定的协议,但是对其管理的界限还是有些模糊。学习上有学分制概念,可缺乏实际内涵。这些都是需要在教务教学上有待进一步解决的问题。


  因此,出于对学生管理工作的考虑以及为保证学生的学习质量,“目前,学校对插班生的规模予以控制”。


  对插班生的管理,江苏建院采取的主要措施是,“将他们与普通学生一视同仁、严格要求,参照全日制在校学生管理办法,并给予重点关注。”据学院学工处处长刘盛贤介绍,一方面是关注这些学生的学习情况,为其提供学习机会,向准备自考的学生提供专门的自习空间和相关信息等;另一方面就是关注他们的违纪情况,加强考核。
