2013年4月，HTC与Facebook联手推出HTC First，成为了第一款深度定制的Facebook社交手机。不幸的是，这款手机的销量十分差，几经降价也乏人问津，仅仅几个月便宣告失败。
苹果iPhone5：
按照以往惯例，苹果公司会在推出新款iPhone之后，降价销售去年的机型。但是由于今年苹果推出了iPhone5s和iPhone5c两款产品，其中5c又是作为iPhone5的替代者，所以iPhone5便成为了最短命的旗舰，而iPhone4s却作为中低端机型仍然销售。
Winamp播放器：
在iTunes流行之前，Winamp一直是全球最受欢迎的音频播放器，陪伴一代人渡过了日日夜夜。它不仅音质出色，众多的插件也是令用户喜爱的部分。不过由于其开发公司Nullsoft被美国在线收购，在今年正式终止了开发，Winamp便从此成为历史了。
Turntable.fm诞生于2011年夏天，是一款备受欢迎的互联网电台软件，为大家带来了众多美好的音乐和分享方式。不过在今年11月，Turntable.fm宣布正式关闭。
2013年6月，微软的MySpace社交服务重新启动，看上去有些华而不实。虽然新的服务将重点放在了音乐上，包括请来Justin Timberlake等明星助阵，但是效果依然平平。同时，这也意味着之前版本的MySpace页面正式关闭，你的好友、照片、博客和留言全都不复存在。
2013年7月，雅虎公司正式宣布关闭AltaVista.com，这个老牌的Web 1.0时代搜索门户，至此完成了自己的使命。
Lavabit、Silent Circle加密电邮服务：
著名的“斯诺登事件”，导致美国联邦政府要求其曾经使用的Lavabit加密邮件服务交出所有用户数据，不过作为一个良心企业，Lavabit选择在2013年8月正式关闭，而不是妥协，尽可能保证了用户的隐私权。随后，另一个加密邮件服务商Silent Circle也选择了关闭。
Google Checkout是谷歌在2006年为了与PayPal进行在线支付工具竞争时推出的产品，但是一直没有得到重视，在今年5月正式关闭，其功能整合到Google Play中。
Blockbuster影碟租赁店：
由于受到Netflix等在线流媒体的影响，美国著名影碟租赁企业Blockbuster宣布将在2014年1月正式关闭300多家店面以及DVD邮寄租赁服务。
2013年3月，谷歌公司宣布停止世界上最流行的RSS阅读器——Google Reader服务，理由是“缺乏盈利能力”。虽然后续有各自替代软件出现，但是短期内似乎都不能弥补用户心中的遗憾。
