在用“理财”、“家庭”、“音乐”等随机关键词搜索时，某些热门应用的排名出现了特大幅度变动。应用Chase Mobile的排名提高了四位，成为“理财”中排名第四。而富国银行的手机应用排名在算法调整后上升了144位。这两个应用的排名变化幅度均超过50%。
另外，在新算法部署后，62.8%的应用的排名变化在5位之上，40%的应用出现了超过20位的变动。之前，在普通的一天里，通过特定关键词搜索，只有17%的应用会出现高于5位的变化，只有3%的应用排名会出现超过20位的变动。
对终端用户来说，算法更改带来的最大影响是任意关键词搜索下排名前五的应用的变动，其中有31%的应用排名发生了变化。在调整前，这部分应用的变动比率仅有8%。
尚不知晓苹果为何对应用搜索算法进行调整，不过，该公司一直在对应用网店进行改进。在2012年初，苹果收购了应用搜索引擎Chomp，后来将该公司的技术整合到了iOS 6系统中的应用网店程序中。
