近日，一篇关于中央纪委书记王岐山的报道引发外界关注，其中提到，王岐山曾向下属推荐阅读《大清相国》。如今，这本以清代名臣陈廷敬为主角的著作在一些网购平台上已然售罄断货。
“陈廷敬的主要功绩之一是整顿吏治，他个人很刚正和清廉，处理案件铁面无私，同时很注重策略。”《大清相国》作者王跃文告诉《第一财经日报》记者，“总体而言，就是自身过硬，对待问题也敢于碰硬。”
这样的畅销传奇早已不是第一次，高层荐书于领导干部和普通公众而言也不再陌生。不久前，习近平总书记在山东曲阜市考察时表示要仔细看看的两本书——《孔子家语通解》和《论语诠解》“一夜畅销”。
从《沉思录》到《第三次工业革命》再到《旧制度与大革命》，公众通过这些书单，依稀看到了最高决策层的书房。
加印《大清相国》
事实上，《大清相国》属于“焕发又一春”。
王跃文称，2007年该书出版后不久，北京的一家媒体曾报道过王岐山推荐此书的内容，此番已经是旧事重提，“当时出版社想借效应来炒作，我还制止了。”
不过，即便没有出版社炒作，这本书还是相当畅销。王跃文透露，此书前后历经4个版本，总共发行超过40万册。
如果以单本20多元的价格计算，此书码洋已达千万元。
《大清相国》写的是陈廷敬在特定的历史境遇中在官场上所作的人格、道德和行为的艰难选择。“清官多酷，陈廷敬是清官，却宅心仁厚；好官多庸，陈廷敬是好官，却精明强干；能官多专，陈廷敬是能官，却从善如流；德官多懦，陈廷敬是德官，却不乏铁腕。”王跃文这样评价陈廷敬。
王跃文表示，他也知道书中陈廷敬的形象已经影响到不少公职人员。“任何历史都是当代史”，这在王跃文看来，历史有很多惊人的相似之处：“比如，康熙初年，金融秩序很混乱，康熙任命陈廷敬‘督理钱法’，用今天的话就是整顿金融秩序、理顺货币关系。再比如，后人所称的‘康乾盛世’，在康熙中叶后，国家逐渐富裕起来，社会的奢靡之风开始盛行，陈廷敬就提出整顿礼仪制度的建议，得到皇帝赞誉。”
该书的最新版本由湖南文艺出版社出版，该社副社长龚湘海对本报记者分析说，这本书之所以畅销，首先肯定是作品本身的文学品质不错；其次在选材上，陈廷敬这个人物有特色，50多年行走官场，并在高位上善始善终；第三，这本书对当代人的从政、做事、做人都有借鉴作用。
王岐山就任中纪委书记以来，相继推出一系列铁腕反腐举措。值得关注的是，十八大以来多名副部级以上官员落马。
“尽管新的时代对官员都有新的要求，但在历史中仍有很多有价值的东西可以让我们发掘、吸收。”王跃文说。
龚湘海说，这本书卖到脱销与王岐山的推荐不无关系：“出版社正在加急安排印刷。”
地方纪委书记的书架
如何看待著作被领导人推荐？王跃文说：“我认为应该平常心对待。官员本身是读书人，给社会营造读书的习惯和风气是很积极的。”
《大清相国》并非王岐山推荐的第一本著作。此前，他推荐的《旧制度与大革命》也一度热销。无论是学界还是民间，都掀起了一股重读法国历史的风气。
四川一名地方政府部门的纪委书记的书架上，去年就多了这本法国历史学家托克维尔的作品。他告诉本报记者，买书原因有两个，首先是很好奇书目中究竟有什么信息值得被推荐；其次是身边的人都在看，因此需要同样了解一下以增加谈资。
“不太能看得懂，但坚持看完。”这名官员称。
世界与中国研究所所长李凡也是趁“热”再读一次，在他看来，大家热衷翻阅此书，不只是提高学识修养，还想了解这本书对当下的借鉴意义。他认为，《旧制度与大革命》所传递出来的信息并不是让人害怕改革，而是促成人们更深刻地理解改革的风险其实可控。
今年4月一本全新的《旧制度与大革命》中文译本问世(直译法语原著，而非此前的一些英译版本)，此书译者钟书峰博士曾告诉本报记者，虽然大家争相阅读，但要避免一些人断章取义地解读。
《人民日报》海外版曾刊文称，改革怎样推进、制度怎样变革，《旧制度与大革命》这本书能带给我们一些启示。
“当前中国与大革命前的法国都处于最繁荣的时期，物质财富的增加，催促了人们权利意识的觉醒和敏感，对特权、腐败、不公正的容忍度更低。”文章称，但同时强调，一味追求激进的改革甚至革命，又有走向动荡混乱的危险，只能依靠审慎的进一步改革化解，决不可误入冒险激进的歧途。
不仅是历史书籍，产业前瞻与未来变化的著作也同样受到重视。国务院总理李克强曾经推荐的《第三次工业革命》就为外界津津乐道，该书作者发现历史上数次重大的经济革命都是在新的通信技术和新的能源系统结合之际发生的。当互联网技术和可再生能源结合起来，就会为第三次工业革命创造强大的新基础设施。
领导人书缘
新中国建立以来，爱书、荐书的领导人不胜枚举，尤其是毛泽东，爱书如命，多年居住的中南海丰泽园内就有菊香书屋，其藏书之多、读书之勤、荐书之广世所罕见。邓小平也是酷爱读书，除了传统经典著作外，他喜欢阅读的书还包括新派武侠小说，像古龙、金庸和梁羽生的都看。
曾担任《我的父亲邓小平》一书责任编辑的周志兴就说过一个故事，有次他看到一张邓小平灯下读书的照片，于是询问摄影师老爷子那时看的是什么书，摄影师给的答案是古龙小说。
近些年，大量经世济民的书籍引发外界的关注。比如，最近出版的《温家宝谈教育》一书中，温家宝多次讲话中提到和推荐的书就有一二十本，其中不乏中国古代经典，比如《尚书》、《论语》等，也有不少外国著作，比如亚当·斯密的《道德情操论》、《国富论》，温家宝还把《沉思录》选作了他天天都会读的著作。
领导干部爱书、荐书，这样的学习氛围自上而下地推进、日益浓厚。从2010年2月开始，中宣部理论局、中组部干部教育局和各个地方陆续向党员干部推荐学习书目，其中，中央直属机关推荐书目中既有传统经典著作，也有《中国大趋势》、《大国软实力》等介绍世情国情的书籍。
