晨报讯(记者 张静雅)北京市公安局推出便民措施，为网上预约、六十周岁以上和身有残疾的申请人，免费办理护照等出入境证件速递业务。昨天是该政策实施首日，共办理了免费速递业务千余件(左图)。
昨天上午，北京晨报记者来到市出入境管理总队接待大厅，在27号窗口有两位白发苍苍的老者正在办理出入境证件。这对老夫妇是和子女到香港旅游，之前就办理过港澳通行证但已过期，民警发现后告知二老现可办理免费速递，并帮助老人登记地址等信息。民警在现场的自助预约机上帮助老人输入登记信息，并打印了受理回执单。
记者从北京市出入境管理总队了解到，昨天共有1209人办理免费速递，其中60岁以上的申请人有194人，残疾人1人，其余皆为网上申请人。民警提示，逾期未收到证件时，可以拨打北京市邮政速递物流有限公司的电话11183进行查询。
