　　《自由引导人民》由法国19世纪著名画家、欧洲浪漫主义画派代表人物德拉克瓦1830年创作，描写了巴黎人民在大革命中推翻波旁王朝的街垒战场景。这幅画一度因包含“政治煽动”寓意被法国政府从卢浮宫摘下。

　　法国《世界报》称，法国外交部认为，此画在中国家喻户晓，支持将其送到中国参加展览，让中国公众一睹此画的风采。但文化部认为，该画作今年曾被游客涂鸦，好不容易才修复好。且此画1974年赴美展出曾导致损坏。
