当天，中央统战部、国家宗教事务局联合表彰了第二届全国创建和谐寺观教堂先进集体和先进个人代表。会上，国家宗教事务局命名北京市白云观等24处宗教活动场所为第二批宗教界爱国主义教育基地。
贯彻中央八项规定和《党政机关厉行节约反对浪费条例》等改进作风制度规定精神，2014年全国宗教工作会议与第二届全国创建和谐寺观教堂先进集体和先进个人代表大会、第二批宗教界爱国主义教育基地命名会议一并召开，会期压缩为1天。
