「4G」是国内最近的热门词语，而作为在网络基础设备业深耕已久的本地巨头华为，自然也不会错过这样一个发声的机会。在上海举行的简报会上，公司无线网络业务部总裁汪涛就为我们介绍了一下他们在LTE领域中所取得的成绩。据悉截止至2013年12月华为已经在全球范围内签署了241份LTE合同，其中已部署的商用网络数为世界最多的110张。在2013年上半年中，他们的全球无线销售收入达到了55.8亿美元，全年预期大约为117亿。汪涛表示公司期望在2014年中这项数据能保持10%的增长，其中LTE业务（单指网络设备）的收入目标是40亿美元，在2013年的基础上翻一番。
在这40亿美元中，预计将有70%的收入来自中国大陆以外，而随着LTE-TDD牌照的发放，中国大陆将成为4G行业的下一个发展热点。根据他们的预测，到2016年时大陆的LTE用户将会达到1.8亿人。虽然目前还无法确定LTE-FDD牌照会在何时发放，但华为坚信「TDD和FDD LTE融合将成为业界主流」，未来也会力助三大运营商加速商用进程。值得一提的是，汪涛还表示在2014年中VoLTE技术将会加速商用，推动用户「加速从2G / 3G向LTE网络转换」（在这里他还专门点名提到了中国移动...）。
除此之外，在现场我们还听到了一些华为接下来的计划。据悉他们将在明年第一季推出首款支持LTE Cat 6网络的海思处理器（估计就是那颗K3V3的八核芯片），其最高下载速率可达300Mbps，在之前LTE Cat 4产品150Mbps的基础上又提升了一大截。而在LTE-Advanced这边，他们预计到2016年所有多频LTE网络均会支持载波聚合技术，这样将有利于进一步挖掘LTE网络的潜力。最后，汪涛还透露了华为在5G方面的战略安排，在2018年前他们会「至少投资6亿美元用于5G技术的研究和创新」，预计到2020年时会推出相应的网络设备。
