按照“北京市书院中国文化发展基金会”(以下简称“书院中国基金会”)在北京市民政局公布的住所，北青报记者来到位于朝阳区景华南街5号远洋光华国际C座的1705室，却发现这里已经变成了一家“西藏信托有限公司”。这家信托公司的工作人员告诉北青报记者，那家“李亚鹏的基金会”两三个月以前就搬走了。北青报记者随后拨打了书院中国基金会在民政局公布的联系电话，查号台的工作人员表示，这个电话的确属于基金会，但是不方便告诉北青报记者他们的新地址，北青报记者留下电话号码后会有相关负责人联系。
北青报记者按照书院中国基金会在名为“书院中国”的新浪微博中写的地址“北京市朝阳区酒仙桥路10号恒通商务园58号楼B36A座301室”找寻过去。
不同于远洋光华国际，书院中国基金会在恒通商务园的办公楼并不临街，一楼大厅的电梯已经停运，在墙上贴着的公司铭牌中北青报记者并没有找到书院中国基金会的牌子，只有一家“北京中书投资控股有限公司”。这家位于3楼的公司在前台的标志上写着“中书控股”，公司入口处一面类似木质结构的影壁上则写着“书院中国 顺势而为”，而这正是李亚鹏在接受媒体采访时提到自己为“书院中国”定下的八个字。

北青报记者从后门走进了中书控股公司的内部，右侧是格子间的公共办公区域，左侧是一排独立的办公室。工作人员表示，书院中国基金会的确是在这里。“你是怎么找到这儿的？”这是多名工作人员看到北青报记者之后的疑问。这套办公室占据了整个A座写字楼的三层，看上去有上千平米的空间，工作人员多为年轻人。办公室的墙上挂着一面“德配天地”的锦旗，是今年10月李亚鹏参加第五届北京传统音乐节时所获，当时他首次以书院中国文化发展基金会理事长的身份亮相。
北青报记者注意到，同一层楼里，还分别写着“中书控股”、“中书酒店”、“中书雅集”、“中书地产”等多个不同的字样。北青报记者查询北京市企业信用信息网得知，北京中书投资控股有限公司、北京中书雅集贸易有限公司、北京中书酒店管理有限公司、北京中书艺莲网络科技有限公司、北京中书教育咨询有限公司、北京中书艺莲商业管理有限公司在北京市工商局登记的住所均位于朝阳区酒仙桥路10号58号楼B36A座三层。其中北京中书投资控股有限公司在三层301，注册资本为3000万，其他几个公司注册资本均为100万，除北京中书艺莲商业管理有限公司的法人代表为“曹芝梅”外，其余公司的法人代表均为“张萍”。
不过在这些公司统一的办公区域中，记者遇见的工作人员都称呼李亚鹏为“李先生”或者“大老板”。记者从中书控股公司管理层负责人证实，李亚鹏是基金会的理事长，同时也是中书控股的董事长。中书控股与书院中国基金会是何关系？这名中书控股管理层的工作人员表示，“中书”可以理解为“书院中国”的简称，中书控股做房地产、艺术节，也做品牌开发等项目，位于云南的“雪山书院”也是中书控股的项目。

基金会公益用途至今成谜

书院中国基金会秘书长赵寂蕙则一再强调，基金会所有的钱都用来做跟传统文化有关的公益项目，在民间找“非遗”的继承人、建“书院”。至于基金会成立一年多以来做了哪些公益，赵寂蕙拒绝透露更为详细的内容，只说22日的新闻发布会上便会知晓。但李亚鹏对于书院的商业项目，却并不讳言。他在接受媒体采访时说，(书院)的商业部分大概选取了三个方向：首先是教育，他们正在筹划幼儿书院，同时也在做类似于北大国学班的成人书院，另一个是书院酒店和书院住宅，还准备做一个“书院造”的品牌，他给这个品牌的定位是“一个生活在当下中国的士大夫一生中应该拥有的一些物品”。
至于外界关于书院中国基金会账目不清的怀疑，赵寂蕙并不打算回应，只说“目前为止，李亚鹏是基金会唯一的捐赠人”。中书控股管理层的工作人员表示，中书控股与书院中国基金会是两个独立的机构，没有任何商业利益的往来，但是由于基金会没有自己的公关部门，所以在需要媒体的时候，中书控股会为他们提供帮助。
