iPhone究竟有多大杀伤力?还是以最先引入iPhone的中国联通为例,自引入iPhone后,其在利润指标上表现不佳,表面上看虽然亏了,但是却树立了联通在3G领域的口碑,带来了3G用户和数据业务收入的增长,并拉动了1000-1500元级别智能手机的销售。更重要的是,中国联通借助iPhone开发了苏宁、国美等社会渠道发售手机。同时,iPhone也帮助中国联通挖走了很多中国移动全球通用户。

3G时代的中移动可以说是失败的,4G时代如果有了iPhone这样的明星机不但可以挽回局面,而且可以实现流量经营的快速转变。此外,还将为中移动带来更多的用户,尤其是高端用户。据腾讯科技此前一份网络民意调查显示,有50.25%的用户表示一旦中移动引入iPhone后会选择购买,排在所有选项第一位,其次是17.83%的用户择购买购机,之后分别是10.29%的联通版和9.39%的电信版。

苹果iPhone目前已经在超过100个国家和地区的240多家运营商销售,但世界最大的移动运营商中国移动在此之前仍然缺席。

其实,中国移动很早就看上了iPhone,其是国内第一家与苹果开始洽谈合作的运营商。早在2007年,iPhone在美国上市,风靡一时。当年11月,中国移动数据部部长高念书等人就来到苹果总部,洽谈将iPhone引入中国事宜。

2008年1月,中移动表示,已暂停与苹果的谈判。但五个月后,在苹果全球开发者大会上,当时的苹果CEO称,3G版iPhone有望在年内进入中国内地,但还需要等待监管部门的批准。据知情人士透露,当时谈判的转机在于,苹果公司让步,不再坚持收入分成模式,双方重启谈判。

到了2009年,中国发放3G牌照。中国联通董事长常小兵带领中国联通谈判小组赴美与苹果谈判,同年8月28日,双方宣布达成为期3年的合约在中国大陆销售两款3G iPhone手机,并签订了独家经销协议,中国联通成为苹果在大陆的唯一授权销售的电信运营商,期限为两年。当年的中移动由于开始运营自主创新的3G制式TD-SCDMA,苹果方面表示安排开发TD制式还要一个过程,但确表示会全力支持TD-LTE(4G)。

随后的几年中移动从未放弃与苹果的谈判,两家迟迟未牵手主要还是一些具体条款如收入分配上存在分歧。

但苹果在业绩上的压力迫使其需尽快与中移动结盟。近年来苹果在华市场份额受到不小的挑战。今年第三财季,苹果公司的大中华区销售额同比下降14%,仅46亿美元。根据市场研究公司Canalys的数据,这一季度,苹果公司在中国智能手机市场的份额跌至5%,排名第七。而三星以18%的份额领先。

从长远来看,与中国移动合作苹果公司或许可以扭转在华下滑颓势。有机构预测,与中移动合作会为苹果带来7.59亿潜在新客户,使公司激增1700万新客户和至少30亿美元的营业收入。

4G亦是推动苹果和中移动合作的一大因素。随着4G牌照正式发放,双方合作可能会在4G时代为用户带来更优质的体验,从而实现双赢。换言之,4G对中移动和苹果都是一大商机。

蜜月后各自的烦恼

中移动目前其还没有公布购买iPhone的套餐方案,但外界猜测,其基本模式与电信、联通将“殊途同归”。而在电信和联通相继和苹果展开合作的这几年里,iPhone的市场普及率已经大幅提高,在高端市场甚至逼近饱和。这意味着中移动需要花更多心思在中低端消费者身上,合约机性价比需要更给力。

需要特别指出的是资费和覆盖。据悉,目前中国移动的初步计划是提供600M/50元、1G/70元、2G/100元、3G/130元、5G/180元的流量套餐服务。但有用户认为,在100Mbps的网络速度下,这些流量将会很快使用完毕。即便是在实际速率下,这样的流量也显然不够,加上资费过高势必会影响iPhone用户的体验。覆盖上,虽然在4G建网起跑快,但网络优化同样需要很长时间。中国移动在3G网络上同样起跑快,但由于网络质量,用户流失严重。

而对于苹果公司而言,双方协议达成后,必定会有初期的iPhone销售激增,但快速增长是短暂的。从长期来看,运营商补贴并不是iPhone最终胜出的决定因素,苹果依然要与三星等手机企业进行激烈的市场竞争。而以中华酷联、小米为代表的国产手机也异军突起,尤其是明年一季度国产品牌千元4G手机的面市,这些产品或多或少会影响苹果手机的销量。

此外,中国智能手机市场正在趋于饱和,国内智能手机的成本远低于国外产品,这对二三线城市的人非常有吸引力。据易观国际的数据显示,在第三季度超过88%的中国消费者购买智能手机时花费不到3000美元,而苹果的iPhone 5s在中国售价超出5000元,5c售价超出4500元。
