李怀亮的代理人蔺文财称，这次李怀亮提出的精神损失是54万元，“之前给的20万元太少了，羁押12年的李怀亮，比起在监狱服刑10年的浙江叔侄案赔偿少得多”。
此次赔偿申请复议书是李怀亮通过特快专递寄往省高院的，李怀亮说：“跑一次郑州路费太贵，专递寄出去能省点钱。”
“咱没杀人，咱没坏良心。”离开看守所半年的李怀亮，神情依旧呆滞，蔺文财说，这是李怀亮常说的一句话。
此次李怀亮的申诉请求有6项，新的赔偿要求为147万元，还申请平顶山中院公开为他恢复名誉、赔礼道歉。
李怀亮在复议申请书中说，在他羁押的12年里，“我的母亲为了替我申冤，整天磕头祷告，死前额头上的大包还未消退。母亲临死，我未能见她老人家一面，没有尽到为人子的孝道”。他的两个女儿因避免背负杀人犯女儿的恶名，早早出嫁，“至今，两个孩子与我没有亲切感，我空背父亲的符号，我没有尽到为人父的责任”。
他的姐姐和其他亲属，为了他奔走呼号，风餐露宿，身染重病，光复印材料费就花费几万元。
