沈骥说，自己作为一名外科医生，深知人体器官对于挽救生命的重要性，今天登记成为器官捐献志愿者，也是完成了多年的心愿。
四川省红十字会器官捐献中心相关负责人表示，截至目前，全国共有1298例志愿捐献者，捐献器官3534个，也就是说，挽救了3534个生命。
四川省红十字会负责人还分析了四川省人体器官捐献工作现状。
从志愿者方面看，通过前期宣传工作，公众意识逐步提高，从2010年开始，在全省各级红十字会填报《人体器官捐献捐献志愿书》的志愿者逐步增加，截至目前，已累计登记400余例，省红十字会几乎每天都会接到3-5名志愿捐献人体器官的咨询电话。按照国家人体器官捐献管理中心规定，省红十字会安排协调员参与见证的公民逝世后人体器官捐献12例。
从医院方面看，四川省具有人体器官移植资质的医院有华西医院、省人民医院、陆军总医院、解放军452医院等4所。这些医院具有较强的综合实力，很多移植科目的诊疗水平走在全国前列，而且积极性较高，希望参与并尽快建立规范的人体器官捐献工作运行体系。

人体器官捐献的流程和做法
一是报名登记。公民申请人体器官捐献，可由申请者本人以书面形式到省捐献办公室或市(州)工作站进行自愿申请人体器官捐献登记；捐献协调员在医疗机构中发现潜在捐献者，若潜在捐献者或其配偶、成年子女、父母有捐献意愿，则由捐献协调员帮助完成捐献手续，并报送省捐献办公室，经捐献办公室确认，将捐献者相关资料录入中国人体器官捐献者登记管理系统。
二是捐献评估。当志愿捐献者潜在捐献状态出现后，由家属或医院的主管医生联系协调员，并上报省捐献办公室。省捐献办公室安排协调员并联系评估小组前往潜在捐献者所在医院开展工作。协调员负责核实潜在捐献者是否存在影响捐献的法律、伦理等问题，向潜在捐献者家属确认捐献的意向，介绍捐献的相关政策；评估小组负责评价潜在捐献者是否有影响捐献的医学禁忌症、是否处于待捐状态等。
三是捐献确认。评估工作完成后，由捐献者所在医疗机构严格根据相关标准判定死亡。在协调员见证下，由捐献者家属代表填写《中国人体器官捐献登记表》，捐献者的配偶、父母、成年子女均签字确认(或委托代表签字确认)。协调员汇集捐献者的户口本、身份证(出生证明)、结婚证、死亡证明及其配偶、父母、成年子女的身份证等文件资料复印件，并上报人体器官捐献办公室。
四是器官获取。捐献确认工作完成后，在器官获取组织的指导下，严格按捐献意愿实施器官获取工作，协调员见证获取过程。
五是器官分配。协调员严格按照中国人体器官分配的相关规定见证器官分配过程；待器官移植完成后，由协调员向省捐献办公室报送器官接受者的相关资料。省捐献办公室填写《中国人体器官捐献完成登记表》
六是遗体处理。器官捐献者完成捐献后的遗体，由摘取器官的医院进行符合伦理原则的医学处理，恢复遗体原貌；对有捐献遗体意愿的捐献者，由协调员联系遗体接收单位接收，对没有捐献遗体意愿的捐献者和不符合捐献遗体条件的捐献者，由捐献办公室移交其家属并协助处理善后事宜。
七是缅怀纪念。捐献办公室向捐献者家属颁发捐献证书；建立四川省人体器官捐献志愿者缅怀网站进行网上缅怀纪念；积极争取规划建设器官捐献志愿者纪念碑、纪念林、纪念馆，为捐献者家属提供缅怀亲人的场所。
