借着“人机大战”的东风，柯洁的粉丝人数呈井喷式增长，一大票从不关注围棋运动的围观群众折服于他的过人实力和语言艺术。在柯洁看来，如果想让更多青少年认识并接触围棋，那么“话题”是必不可少的要素，例如这次李世石与AlphaGo的人机大战。
其实柯洁自己就是一台“话题制造机”，他的言行与努力也确实为围棋博取了极大关注。柯洁坦言，他想把棋手的另一面展现出来。“此前有的棋手不太善于表达自己，这让很多年轻人认为我们棋手只知道下棋，就是棋呆子。我希望不给外界留下这样的印象，而是把棋手积极、向上、阳光的一面展示出来。”
柯洁同时表示，自己在这方面尚有欠缺，“我其实不太能算是可以很好表达自己的棋手，之前常昊、古力做得很好。只能说在我们这一代中，我是希望尝试去这样做的。”
谈及人机大战，柯洁认为两点原因造成了李世石1-4大败的结果。
“首先肯定是AlphaGo拥有强大的实力，甚至可以说是我所见过的最强，它的大局观、计算力都很出色。”
“其次和李世石的心态也有关系。前三盘不知道AlphaGo是什么棋风，他有一定的不适应，加之轻敌，心态上必然会有些波动。不单单是李世石，任何棋手在最初与之对战时都是难以适应的，这个心态很难调整，我也非常理解李世石在这样的情况下发挥失常。歪招之类是行不通的，想取胜还是要做自己。等李世石可以正视这个对手，为时已晚。”

柯洁今天也确认，现在谷歌AlphaGo方面还没有任何实质性的邀请或挑战向他发出。不过即便如此，大家还是对这场臆想中的较量颇为关注。柯洁表示，如果以AlphaGo现有的实力来衡量，那么他是有一战之力的。
柯洁坦言，如果将来对战成行，他会制定出一套相应的战术去应对AlphaGo，而不是像李世石此番，在几乎毫无准备的情况下贸然接受挑战，然后被1-4击败。
对于番棋的长短，柯洁认为十番棋有十番棋的好处，三番棋也有三番棋的优势，这并不是关键所在。他更看重的，是不同时限对局势的影响。如果真的要与AlphaGo对弈，他希望其他中国棋手可以参与进来，助他一臂之力。
“有机会的话，我们可以先找人测试一下AlphaGo在各个时限条件下的对局，从而判断出其中哪个时限对我更有利，并结合这些制定出一套战术。”
“我自己直接下不一定会输，但有人帮助的话会更好。”柯洁如是说。
