就如同现在从华为的成功回顾过去一般！特别是中兴通讯被美国禁购事件出来以后，我们才突然明白，嗯！华为当初坚持自主研发芯片和OS操作系统是对的！如果只是关注这么一个事实则对我们的成长无益。当初华为为什么要上马芯片和操作系统？任正非的战略逻辑和出发点是什么？
芯片即使自己不用也得做
企业的运行取决于两个方面，一个是商业模式，一个是技术创新。华为是做“铁皮”的，为运营商和消费者不断提供管道和终端，商业模式可变革的地方不多。任正非特别衷情于技术创新，硬性规定每年的研发费用要占到销售收入的10%以上，花不掉都不行。
十几年前华为开始设计3G系统时，因为还没有进入商用阶段，全世界都买不到3G的终端，没有终端就没办法做整个3G系统的联调。那时候华为还没有正式做终端业务，终端开发属于无线产品线下的配套部门，为了开发3G系统，华为把网络侧和终端侧的3G数理逻辑完全靠自己设计。
当时网络系统的开发部门在上海，终端系统的开发部门在北京，完成数理逻辑的开发后，北京的终端部门带着几个大箱子乘火车到上海，在金茂大厦里跟网络系统一起做联调。多年以后华为开发4G系统，相似的事情又做了一遍。
数理逻辑是一个系统的灵魂，一旦完成系统里所有的算法设计，把其中复杂的软件算法变成微电路就成芯片了。海思半导体就这么诞生的。
对海思芯片的定位，任正非明确了两点：一是华为内部可以不使用海思的芯片；二是即使内部几十年不用海思的芯片，为了不受制于人，也得坚持做下去。
任正非认为华为不应该做成一个闭合系统，理由是闭合系统总有一天能量耗尽，就会死亡，开放才能能量交换，才能自我优化。其背后的逻辑是什么？“我并不反对你们买美国的高端芯片。我认为你们要尽可能的用他们的高端芯片，好好的理解它。只有他们不卖给我们的时候，我们的东西稍微差一点，也要凑合能用上去。我们不能有狭隘的自豪感，这种自豪感会害死我们。我们的目的就是要赚钱，是要拿下上甘岭。”
任正非曾在2012实验室说：“我们在价值平衡上，即使做成功了，（芯片）暂时没有用，也还是要继续做下去。一旦公司出现战略性的漏洞，我们不是几百亿美金的损失，而是几千亿美金的损失。我们公司积累了这么多的财富，这些财富可能就是因为那一个点，让别人卡住，最后死掉。……这是公司的战略旗帜，不能动掉的。”
不受制于人，是比较好理解的。只不过，要做这种基础性的研发投入，中国有这个勇气和决心的企业寥如晨星！
做OS是怕被别人断了粮食
华为做终端OS操作系统跟做芯片相类似。但当初内部质疑的声音比较大，认为Android、iOS、Windows Phone 8已三足鼎立，并形成了各自的生态圈，留给华为的机会窗已经很小。
任正非还是遵循开放的逻辑，说：“如果这三个操作系统都给华为一个平等权利，那我们的操作系统是不需要的。为什么不可以用别人的优势呢？”
但任正非也是居安思危的，他对研发人员说：“微软的总裁、思科的CEO和我聊天的时候，他们都说害怕华为站起来，举起世界的旗帜反垄断。我给他们说我才不反垄断，我左手打着微软的伞，右手打着CISCO的伞，你们卖高价，我只要卖低一点，也能赚大把的钱。我为什么一定要把伞拿掉，让太阳晒在我脑袋上，脑袋上流着汗，把地上的小草都滋润起来，小草用低价格和我竞争，打得我头破血流。”

开放是为了学习和过渡

海思于2014年5月发布四核麒麟910T，搭载于华为P7；2014年9月发布超八核麒麟925芯片，搭载于华为mate7、荣耀6Plus；2015年4月发布麒麟935，搭载于华为P8高配版与荣耀7。
Mate8使用的是麒麟950芯片，这一芯片是从2013年底开始规划的，华为没有象高通骁龙810那样选择A57+A53，而是选择了A72，这款芯片做到了高性能+低功耗，功耗优势已超过高通骁龙810。同时，麒麟950跟以前的版本相比，多了一个名叫ISP的处理单元，这个处理单元是用来做摄像头拍照、录像的图片数据处理。
大家都知道iPhone的拍照效果好，因为Apple一直是数字图形图像领域的领导公司，从他们自己设计第一片手机芯片开始，他们就内置了自己的ISP。麒麟950内置的ISP是华为自己设计的。Mate8上市前有做过用户调研，在盲测里用户无法区分出Mate8、Galaxy S6 Plus、iPhone 6s Plus三款手机拍出的照片，在这个ISP的帮助下，Mate8的拍照效果帮助华为进入了世界第一阵营。
虽然目前还没有看到华为手机使用自己的OS移动操作系统，但华为对操作系统的重视到了前所未有的高度，咔嚓观察，华为OS作为基础性软件，通过数学基础理论创新、数学模型创新和核心算法创新来实现自我颠覆，将承载起华为持续领先的重任。
从华为内部招聘动向来看，操作系统的研发有加速迹象。据知情人透露，OS操作系统这一两年就有望用到华为手机上。
华为已基本做到了既不打微软的伞，也不打思科的伞。中国会更多的企业走在这条路上。
