刘先生对腾讯科技讲述了整个事件的经过。
5月13日晚10点38分，其女友和同事在朝阳剧院附近叫到一辆优步前往四惠，乘车过程中不小心将钱包遗留在车上。钱包中有身份证、信用卡、储蓄卡、代金券和外币，损失并未超过500元。
5月14日早上10点多，其女友收到一个名为“模特经纪人招聘”的微信好友申请，并被告知钱包已被捡到，如果想要寄回需要支付1500元的“感谢费”，并明确表示不会见面交易。刘先生一怒之下删掉对方微信。

刘先生打电话向警方求助。但警方的回复是需要优步给予明确的文字回复，证明司机和勒索人是同一人，否则警方不会受理。
为了向司机求证此事，刘先生通过优步提供的中间电话联系到司机本人，但司机矢口否认捡到了刘先生女友的钱包，随后电话一直处于关机状态。

刘先生对腾讯科技称，优步应急处理小组的张女士通过电话告诉其女友，优步可以确定司机和发布信息者是同一人，并告诉其女友可以报警处理此事。
腾讯科技就此事联系了优步方面，优步表示正在核实和处理，但司机并没有将乘客信息挂在网上，也没有涉及信息泄露的问题。

此前有消息称，《网络预约出租汽车经营服务管理暂行办法》（简称“专车新政”）发布时间最快5月初，最迟5月底。腾讯科技从知情人士处了解到，专车新政的推出还暂无具体时间表，之前管理办法中诸如车辆性质变更及八年报废等核心内容仍在商讨阶段。
去年10月，专车新政征求意见稿出台，至今正式版一直没有公布。据了解，新政之所以迟迟没有出台，是因为专车新政牵连太大，有各种社会影响需要考虑，一方面影响了数百万司机的就业和收入，另一方面也影响了百姓出行。
今年3月份，交通运输部部长杨传堂在两会期间曾表示，“对待新生事物，绝不能止步不前，墨守成规。网约车作为新生事物，给乘客带来良好体验，要给这种服务方式一个合法的出路。私家车想要转化为网约车，可以按照目前起草的办法，通过一定程序转化为合规营运车辆。”
