联想于2014年1月29日宣布以29.1亿美元收购谷歌旗下摩托罗拉移动智能手机业务，收购价格中包括6.6亿美元现金以及7.5亿美元联想普通股，其余15亿美元为向谷歌发行的承兑票据，于交割日满三年以现金支付。而谷歌方面，当时又于1月份购入7.5亿美元联想股票，占联想股本的5.94%。
