40岁前，他的生活可谓潦倒不堪，父亲饮弹自尽，自己吸毒、酗酒；40岁后，他的人生一路狂飙，逆袭成为亿万富翁，涉嫌谋杀却又竞选总统......相信很多人对他并不陌生，他就是全球闻名杀毒软件公司McAfee创始人，被称为安全界“钢铁侠”的John McAfee。
今年8月16日，这位传奇人物将首次现身中国，参加中国互联网安全大会，与国内互联网安全教父周鸿祎同台PK。不过，在大会开始前，36氪争取到了McAfee的独家专访，尝试从多个维度窥探他的侧面人生。
这也是McAfee第一次接受国内媒体采访。
38岁之前，就是一个loser
青年时代，对McAfee影响最大的一件事是时常对其实施家暴的父亲饮弹自尽，时值15岁的McAfee不得不开始一个人的求生之路，仅仅依靠推销杂志赚取生活费和大学学费。而父亲之死留下的阴影，也成为他之后嗑药、酗酒的诱因。
从23岁一直到38岁，McAfee的经历称的上丰富、充实，但却没有一件事情做到了有始有终。比如，他在大学做过代码工作，也曾一度成为Omex公司的总工程师，但纷纷因为吸毒或贩毒等不良嗜好而折戟。
McAfee告诉36氪，他大学毕业后的第一份工作是在通用电气，当时公司安排他去学校学习用汇编语言编程。但由于当时是1970年，大学还没有开设编程相关的课程，所有的编程知识都是有计算机厂商教授。
“计算机和编程彻底改变了我，当时我立刻就想到它们将如何改变世界，如何打开神奇世界的大门？在那一刻，我就已经开始向往未来了”，McAfee说道。
40岁之后，如何一步步跻身安全界大神？
事实证明McAfee的预见正是如此，开挂的人生也完全无需解释。
1986年，巴基斯坦的一对兄弟编写出世界上首个针对个人电脑的病毒“大脑(Brain)”病毒，这款病毒运行在DOS操作系统下，通过软盘传播，只在盗拷软件时才发作，发作时将盗拷者的硬盘剩余空间吃掉。
恰恰就在此时，已经41岁的McAfee偶然在《圣何塞墨丘利新闻报》上看到了一篇关于Brain病毒传遍美国的报道。McAfee凭借着自己的商业嗅觉和之前学到的编程知识，只用了一年时间，在1987年便开发出以自己名字命名的反病毒软件McAfee。
随后，他不失时机的开始大肆宣扬电脑病毒的危害，甚至还写了一本名叫《电脑病毒、蠕虫、数据诈骗、程序杀手和其他威胁》的书来讲解病毒的危害到底有多大。
这样的宣传也卓有成效，致使McAfee这款产品迅速风靡全国，只用了六个月时间，公司利润便涨了50倍。不到五年时间，《财富》杂志评选的100强企业中有一半的企业都在运行McAfee这款反病毒软件。
1992年，McAfee带领这家公司走向纳斯达克，并且成功上市，当时他所持的股份价值已经迅速飙升至8000万美元。
当36氪问及为何40岁这个节点的前后会发生如此大的转变时，McAfee的回答简单直接：
40岁之前我迷恋各种各样的毒品，41岁时我已经不再使用任何毒品了，这就是原因。
公司成功上市之后的几年间，McAfee这家企业一直维持着高速的成长和娇好的收益，跻身亿万富豪行列的McAfee本人也开始培养一些个人爱好，写书、练瑜伽等等，并且做起了反对毒品的公益宣传广告。
直到2008金融危机来袭，McAfee的资产一下从10亿美元缩水到4亿。两年之后，Intel宣布以每股48美元现金收购McAfee，这一交易总值达到了76.8亿美元的高价。紧接着，Intel将其改名为Intel Security──McAfee。
然而，即便公司被收购，也并没有阻止McAfee折腾的人生，而是一次又一次再开启“上头条”模式，比如被怀疑制毒遭警方拘留、涉嫌谋杀邻居被通缉、出逃路上直播逃亡经历，甚至还创立了一个新的政党—科技党(Cyber Party)，宣布要竞选总统。
针对颇具争议的FBI与Apple解锁一案，McAfee也曾因发表诸如“如果我没办法解锁我就把鞋子吞下去”的宣言在全球范围内广泛流传。
就在刚刚过去的2016年5月，McAfee高调宣布出任MGT资本CEO，促使公司股票一周内暴涨5倍。同时，MGT还宣布收购McAfee创办的反间谍软件公司D-Vasive科技，将公司正式改名为John McAfee Global Technologies，这意味着又一家以McAfee本人命名的公司诞生了。
McAfee在一份声明中表示，未来期待能够在网络安全、个人隐私领域成长为具有影响力的公司。
对于70岁高龄的McAfee本人来说，这是否意味着一个新的开始？
McAfee很坦诚的告诉36氪，年龄并不是影响开启新事业的理由，因为随着年龄的不断增长，对生活中的人和世界的理解越深刻，这将是未来事业中一笔很大的财富和资产。
中国和美国两国的网络环境，大神有话说
作为一位混迹安全界几十年的大牛，McAfee对中国和美国两国的网络安全也发表了自己的看法。
他认为在美国，政府和公司内部最大的问题是不了解网络攻击是如何实施的。例如，大部分攻击向量采用的是社会工程学方法。如果员工没有接受过这种方法的培训，那么世界上所有的网络安全技术都将是无用的。
“很多管理人员只寄希望于安全产品本身来保护网络安全。虽然这些产品确实有必要，但是如果公司内的员工没有接受过培训，那么这些产品也会变得没有价值”。
McAfee还举例说，这就类似你拥有世界上最好的金库，但是门却是一直开着的。如果人们每天晚上不关门、不锁门，那么金库是否坚不可摧就不重要了。
谈及中国的网络环境，McAfee表示中国的网络安全公司和美国一样，都过多地关注技术，对人的关注度远远不够。
“我们现在依赖科技，相信科技会拯救我们。但是我们忘了，是我们创造了科技，我们必须负责管理它”，McAfee补充道。
事实上，在McAfee宣布竞选总统时，有一个理由是说美国政府在科技方面表现出无知和无能。然而在在我们看来，美国则是代表着世界先进技术以及创新的指向标。对此，McAfee首先也毫不掩饰的肯定了美国在科技行业做得非常好的事实。
“但是我们的政府官僚主义严重，发展缓慢，适应能力弱。你所看到的高科技都是私有企业的作品，与政府无关”，他接着告诉36氪。
下一步“作死”计划，已然就绪
当36氪问及此次来中国的目的和未来计划？
McAfee透露下一步打算在网络安全系统的硬件组件制造方面与中国公司开展业务，并且表示还有一份很宏伟的计划，只是现在不方便透露。
在McAfee眼中，中国的安全技术所面临的最大问题是书面语言问题。所有的英文单词、句式结构和特殊的字符都基于字母，每个字母都可以包含一个字节。
中国有5000多个汉字，无法轻易地被数字化，在数字编程方面这是一个障碍。在小时候，西方人接受的训练就是通过这些微小的元素组合来表达思想；而中国人需要通过5000多个汉字进行表达。
McAfee认为这同时也是中国在硬件工程方面做得很优秀，但是在软件工程方面有所欠缺的原因。
酗酒、贩毒、亿万富翁、竞选总统.....这一系列标签向我们展示着McAfee“波澜壮阔”的人生历程，但是38岁前的他就是一个彻头彻尾的失败者！这种持续作死的人生，如果时光倒转，McAfee是否有那么一刻想要改变？
“我一点也不想改变过去的生活。哪怕有一点不同，我的人生历程就会发生很大的变化，我也不会是现在这个样子了，我喜欢自己现在的样子”，他说。
